SF values baloney. I reckon many more Americans would like to live there than actually do.
Just behind Chinatown and near North Beach then.

I lived on Arguello and Washington tucked up next to the Presidio during the mid 80s. At that time all the dance clubs were located south of Market. Well there were a couple on Haight St.. The only reason to head down to the Tenderloin was if you wanted an umbrella in your Rum Punch; then it was Trader Vic's for sure. There's too many neighborhoods to hang out in really. The Richmond, Marina and North Beach; I had everything north of Fell St. handled.

Well folks, it's been a while since the last update of SF Values so here's the latest!

Berkeley Tree-Sit Finally Ends!

Here's the last tree, which arborists had stripped of its lower branches, isolating the tree-sitters in their makeshift treehouse near the top. Everyone was wondering how in the world the police were planning to extricate them. The answer: They rapidly built a scaffolding tower that stretched nearly 100 feet in the air, completely surrounding the tree.

After just a few hours of construction, the scaffolding reached nearly to the top of the tree. The four tree-sitters must have realized the end of the road was near. One of them caved in first, and was led down the scaffolding staircase while the other three watched from above.

After another one gave up, the last two decided they weren't going to go down without a fight. They climbed up the last few feet of the tree to their rickety perch at the very very top.

Famed former tree-sitter Dumpster Muffin danced on the street below in the crowd. Protestshooter has more pictures of Dumpster (as well as clearer pictures of Chief Harrison) in his report on the day's events.

For all the gory details, go here

WTF! Dumpster Muffin!

The Freegan movement advocates and openly participates in Dumpster Diving.

This is in an effort to use, and reveal the waste that we people....throw out, that can be used.

I've never dumpster dived, but honestly, the people that do, are making a point.

I think we all waste too much.

Folks, have you thought about what's coming down the pipeline if the Democrats take the White House? The media will cater to the winners. That means the return of the kooks. The tree sitters will be moved to the front page. Code Pink will be mainstreamed. Kooky social experiments will be given airtime as if they are reality. The kooks will be front and center. That's what you're asking for, folks. That's what your going to get.

She must have loved that tree very much. Probably like a family member except that it didn't move, speak, eat, show any emotion, expression or feeling.

When I was three, I LOVED my baby blanket. I can relate. I share her sorrow.

Tree huggers are awfully sentimental, aren't they?

Update on illegal immigrant juvenile felons harbored by San Francisco officials:

Hundreds of adult illegals also got sanctuary

It turns out that San Francisco wasn't shielding just juvenile illegal immigrants from deportation if they committed crimes - City Hall officials have discovered that there are 372 convicted adult felons on probation in the city who weren't reported to the feds.

Hundreds of adult illegals also got sanctuary

30% of S.F. juvenile offenders actually adults

Nearly 30 percent of the felony offenders San Francisco juvenile justice officials have reported to federal immigration authorities since the city stopped shielding youths from deportation have turned out to be adults, authorities say.

The city's Juvenile Probation Department has referred 58 offenders to federal authorities since Mayor Gavin Newsom announced July 2 that the city no longer would protect youths from deportation under San Francisco's sanctuary law. The mayor took the step after The Chronicle revealed that the city was paying for flights home and $7,000-a-month group homes for underage, undocumented offenders, who as adults could face prison and automatic deportation.

Of those 58 offenders, authorities have concluded that 17 - or 29.3 percent - were adults, based on immigration records and the statements of offenders themselves, federal immigration officials say.

30% of S.F. juvenile offenders actually adults

Immigration Official: Mr. Illegal-Immigrant-Convicted-Felon how old are you?

Mr. IICF: 16

Immigration Official: But it says here you have a ten year old son.

Mr. IICF: Er, well, my wife was older.

So SF does not voluntarily co-operate with Fed authorities on the Immigration status of offenders? Well that seems pretty crazy to me....

Many local authorities in the US don't co-operate with various Federal organizations on a variety of issues.
