So you're basing your comment that: "It took a guy like Ollie & Ronald Reagan backing him up to get the job done" on what you guess what the Iranians would've guessed that Reagan would've possibly done... At a guess.
More likely a high probability there...
Recall (you may or may not) what Reagan did to the air traffic controllers?

Yes because American citizens striking is exactly the same as Iranian hostage-takers.

Any other completely irrelevant and meaningless comparisons? Sometimes it really is just easier to admit that you were wrong or engaged in a bit of 'distortion' you know. Certainly prevents the hole from getting deeper.

It's about time.

Recruiters are doing their job. I respect them. They are doing their jobs.

But I have a problem: I don't like Neo-Conservatism.

Karl Rove's Marines are not letting a bunch of smelly Hippies stop their recruitment of young, patriotic Americans!

Gateway Pundit: Berkeley Chaos-- Protesters Chain Themselves to Marine Office Doors... Scuffle With Recruits!

These people are completely unhinged!

BERKELEY / Facing off over Marine Corps / 3 war opponents chain selves to door of recruiting station, and right-wing blogosphere goes ballistic

I don't think I'd fit in to well, Boon.

Check out these pics of those so-called 'revolutionary Maoist Cultists' in Berkeley (SF) protesting our brave, proud, Patriotic Marines.

This guy's got the right idea w/respect to dealing with those Moonbats in Berzerkeley.

U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., says the City of Berkeley, Calif., no longer deserves federal money.

DeMint was angered after learning that the Berkeley City Council voted this week to tell the U.S. Marine Corps to remove its recruiting station from the city's downtown.

"This is a slap in the face to all brave service men and women and their families," DeMint said in a prepared statement. "The First Amendment gives the City of Berkeley the right to be idiotic, but from now on they should do it with their own money."

"If the city can’t show respect for the Marines that have fought, bled and died for their freedom, Berkeley should not be receiving special taxpayer-funded handouts," he added.

No shit...

maybe demint (and boon mee) should be worrying about the homeless iraq vets, instead of being duped into thinking this is an important issue.

how many marines were actually recruited in berkeley office last year? any?
and considering how expensive this war is turning out to be, as a cost saving measure they should probably move the office to a cheaper real estate market.

but of course the rubes will continue to parrot the talking points from rush limbaugh/foxnews as if this is an important issue.

Update: Well, it turns out dear readers that the Berkeley City Council has raised the White Flag. It seems they had a 're-think' after they heard from hundreds of folks right in their respective districts. The Mayor still thinks that "“Marines are the President’s own gangsters… they are trained killers” and that the Marines are known for “death and destruction…and maiming” and give America “horrible karma,” it’s the “policy” they oppose, you see."

Not at all.
The so-called right-wing media no doubt part of the VRWC (Vast Right Wing Conspiracy) was alert to more encroachment of Americans liberties by the virulent, rabid, appeasement-monkeys in SF & Berkeley.

The Semper Fi Act.

"Today, U.S. Senators James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma), Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina), Saxby Chambliss (R-Georgia), Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-Oklahoma), John Cornyn (R-Texas), and David Vitter (R-Louisiana) introduced the Semper Fi Act of 2008. The bill would rescind over $2 million in hidden earmarks for Berkeley, California in the 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill, and transfer the funds to the Marine Corps. U.S. Congressman John Campbell (R-California) is introducing a companion bill in the House of Representatives."

So much for an 'unimportant issue' eh?
