^Yeah, unfortunately, I put Coulter and Malkin in the same self-serving camp. Mind you, there are lots of other great true right wingers who are not merely spouting rhetoric, but actually believe it. You mentioned Ollie North - a true patriot.

I've always like Bill Buckley. Even Dennis Miller has a sense of humor and doesn't get caught up in the over the top BS. There are lots of good right wing spokesmen and women with credibility.

Coulter and Malkin are for people who cannot think for themselves, IMO.

Also, Oliver North played the American public like the fools they are:

attending the Congressional hearing in 1987 wearing a Marine uniform.

Drinking the All-American coca-cola.

Basically, a cocaine dealer.

Those who got to know North well realized he was a habitual liar, and strange fellow. Thankfully he lost his Virginia Senatorial bid to Robb in the mid 90s.

I didn't know that North was involved in the hostage situation, which took place from 1980-81.

Iran-Contra came later: secretly selling arms to Iran to fund the Contras in Nicaragua.

That's right, Ollie (aka the Patriot) brokered a deal with Iran/Nicaragua to free the hostages when Reagan took office.

Still to be fair the situation was resolved and Ollie was good enough to take time out away from his other "patriotic" duties. Like narcotics trading.
