It's the sound of Dubya's pen unsheathed about to sign the commutation orders...![]()
it was only a matter of time....the rats are turning on each other.
WASHINGTON - Former White House press secretary Scott McClellan blames President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for efforts to mislead the public about the role of White House aides in leaking the identity of a CIA operative.
In an excerpt from his forthcoming book, McClellan recount the 2003 news conference in which he told reporters that aides Karl Rove and I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby were "not involved" in the leak involving operative Valerie Plame.
"There was one problem. It was not true," McClellan writes, according to a brief excerpt released Monday. "I had unknowingly passed along false information. And five of the highest-ranking officials in the administration were involved in my doing so: Rove, Libby, the vice president, the president's chief of staff and the president himself."guess again georgie boy.Bush most recently addressed the issue in July after commuting Libby's 30-month prison term. He acknowledged that some in the White House were involved in the leak. Then, after repeatedly declining to discuss the ongoing investigation, he said the case was closed and it was time to move on.

i'm sure mcclellan will be brought before a congressional committee before long to get his testimony on record.
I think this rat is saying this (and I think he's telling the truth) to push his book coming out soon.
This administration is really the goofiest I can recall.
yeah, he's trying to sell a book....and also exacting a bit of revenge too. he looked like such a fool for weeks on end when everyone knew he had been lied to, but he stuck to the script.
btw, does anyone know if it is true that fitzgerald never closed the case? if so, i hope he brings in a new grand jury.
a statement from presidential candidate sen. chris dodd
Dodd Calls on Mukasey to Investigate McClellan Charges of White House Cover Up | Chris Dodd for President"Today's revelations by Mr. McClellan are very disturbing and raise several important questions that need to be answered. If in fact the President of the United of States knowingly instructed his chief spokesman to mislead the American people, there can be no more fundamental betrayal of the public trust.
"During his confirmation process, Attorney General Mukasey said he would act independently. Accordingly, today, I call on the Attorney General to live up to his word and launch an immediate investigation to determine the facts of this case, the extent of any cover up and determine what the President knew and when he knew it."
it will be interesting to see what mukasey does with this. i'm not expecting much, but it would be great if he opened an investigation into cheney's office

Interview of the President by Enrique Gratas, Univision"I'm pretty much going to stay out of it until the course -- the case has finally run its final -- the course it's going to take."
Press Gaggle by Dana PerinoQ: "When do you consider the process over?"
Perino: "Well, I think when those appeals are exhausted is when it would be over."
Q: "And if Scooter Libby says, 'I'm not going to appeal'?"
Perino: "Well, then we'd have to take that into consideration and I'd have to come back with more reaction."

And Sandy Burgler?![]()
the vice president's chief of staff has been disbarred. let's hope someone in washington has the courage to bring charges of treason for outing a covert (yeah, that's right, covert) CIA officer during a "time of war".
WASHINGTON - Former top White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was banned Thursday from practicing law in the nation's capital following his perjury conviction in the case of a CIA operative's leaked identity.
The disbarment order of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia had been expected.
"When a member of the bar is convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude, disbarment is mandatory," the appeals court ruled.Libby loses law license - The White House - MSNBC.comFact file Verdict in the Scooter Libby trial

Libby the Zionist and liar. Feeding false information to Judith Miller (another Zionist) and having if reported in the NY Times and then having the Associated Press pick it up and the false story ends of in newspapers all over the country.
and then having cheney cite 'the media' on "meet the press".Originally Posted by Milkman
