We stopped for breakfast at a nice little French cafe

    The cathedral

The Arcade is a nice little shopping area, pretty self contained. Nice for a stroll on a good day like this day was

The Arcade has a hot air balloon that goes up and down. Here it is when it's down

    and up

There was a guy playing guitar there and his dog just camped out and slept the whole time.

    Moving on

    The water was really clear

    Bye bye Bournemouth

Thanks for all the photos. I would love to see it all for myself. How expensive was the trip? 4 days in Briton, England , UK or whatever you actually call it these days sounds about right. How come that quaint French cafe breakfast looks like a typical english breakfast with French bread? Mohamed I love you also!

I'm not sure about the cost. I'd have to get all the info from hubby.

That made me laugh. That's why I took a picture of it.

    Durdle Door and Weymouth

This is really cool. The Durdle door is a beautiful rock formation that goes out into the water. To see it, you have to hike for a mile, up this huge hill, then down. It's well worth it.

    The Durdle Door

At this point our camera bettery had dies since we both forgot to charge it the night before. The rest of the pics are from my phone.

    Weymouth

There's a bit of a story about where we are here. While we were in Bournemouth, hubby called one of his colleagues and it turned out that his colleague and another colleague were working in Weymouth. They were setting up the caneras there for the sailing venue for the Olympics. So we met them for a drink.

    The marina

The area where they had to install the cameras

Behind that wall is an old navy ship that was used fro prisoners. It's now uses by the SAS for training.

Thanks very much for taking the effort to post this. I am a Dorset boy and am loving the thread. Did you drive through the New Forest and see the ponies? I only saw one pic..shame.. I have some great pics of the missus on our last trip to Blighty. New Forest, Christchurch harbour, Stone Henge....and the Cerne Abbas Giant where I tried to frame one photo with his penis coming out of the top of her head...

Good work there Natalie. Eastbourne was where my Parents used to take us as kids. A good number of memories from those visits..
Brighton is a great City , when you move to England check it out some more.
Loads of shops etc, I think you and yours will love it . Sat here missing the place, it was only a bus ride away from me.

Durdle Door brings back many happy childhood memories. We would go and camp there putting up the tent in the dark. If the weather wasn't good we would look longingly at those who had caravans. Blowing up lilos to sleep on and ensure the water bottle was full were our tasks.

Walking up to the farm shop for bacon and eggs in the morning was a treat.

Sandwiches and flasks of tea were then made, sometime a pastie or two packed and the trek down to this beach.

Spent many a day in the sun trap and swimming out to the rocks.

When older we would go night fishing and sit on top of the arch catching mackerel for breakfast. Parents never knew of course.

    Happy days.

You must have had really long fishing lines. If I was a kid and travelling there, I would definitely have done the same.

    Thanks Jeremiah, yotry and Lancelot.

Do indulging in food, booze and friends count? Of course we're celebrating. We're not politically correct.
