    Scarborough wave dodgers

Here in Scarborough, North England ,when the tides are just right the waves crash in big time,
but that does not stop people walking along the seafront , in fact its as a kind of challenge to pit yourself against a 30 footer...
Lets kick of with a real pro, he decides to stand on the bench to stop his feet getting wet as he takes the perfect photo , but hang on, what if a real big fuking wave comes in ? ....

The guy in the mobiltiy scooter was parked there for ages, maybe encouraging others to get close too, so he could have a good laugh at them getting soaked ?

    FVCK ME!

Where do I start. I don't know what's worse, the fool on the mobility scooter getting doused in salt water, will surely bring about the demise of his mode of transport, or the knobs who park their cars close enough to be covered in salt water.

Or is it the woman with the pram???

    Either way, great pics!!!!

Superb pics there blue. Full of technical quality and subject interest. You should get out there more with your camera and post some more. What camera were you using ?

    oh thanks everyone..
shot with a 'compact' Panasonic lumix fz100 super zoom
It's has a much smaller sensor than an SLR ,but is comparatively small and is very fast indeed and I'm only a happy snapper....
Anyway here are a few more

A open top bus that runs up and down the coast, if you want to get broadsided with lots of spray !
Scarborough castle on the hill, bombarded by Oliver Cromwell in 1645 , to show who was boss,

    looks fun

I was not the only one taking photos , the boy with the bucket and spade is a bit optimistic ,perhaps it was nicer earlier, i got up late..

Police finally closed the road to traffic, don't think this lad was going to argue about it .

    great photos.

    yorkshire born, yorkshire bred
strong in the arm and thick in the head.

scarborough is a great place, when i was a kid i spent a few summer holidays there, filey too.

not much to do, and the wind off the north sea does you no favours, even in mid summer, but its a raw elemental place, very england and very yorkshire.

not for the faint hearted, and londoners couldnt handle it.
