About a year ago I remember one of these cars passing me outside work with a Google sticker on the side.
When Google Street was launched, I logged on for a butchers & there I was.
I thought that was pretty cool.
Yesterday the weather was lovely. As is custom, a lot of people head for the pubs, including myself.
I got there & it was packed.
This boozer has featured in one of Mathos' threads. It has a long history, having been rebuilt brick by brick after the IRA blew Manchester up about ten years ago, amongst other things. I think it's over two-hundred years old.
These clowns in the background were 'free runners' - the art of jumping off walls & such like a complete cock, popularized by a James Bond movie. The crowd, pissed as farts, were cheering them on as there wasn't much else to look at. The biggest cheer was reserved for when one of them fell backwards off a twenty foot wall & crashed onto the pavement.
See anything more interesting in the photo?
I sat down on a step to take a better shot of the, um, free-runners, but was clocked
There was a funny incident when some foreign fool wandered in wearing a Barca shirt. He got several pints poured over his head & the doormen threw him out - welcome to Manchester! Sadly it was all over before I could dig out my phone.
There was nowhere to sit, so I only had the one & fucked off to the park, situatuated within Picadilly Gardens.
This was also packed.
These are African dancers, complete with bongos & some other kind of instrument.
They were terrible.
There was nowhere to sit again, so I took advantage of a passing dealer & continued my search for a place to settle in the sun.
I figured I'd try my luck in the park in the gay village (I should probably re-write that, but you know what I mean).
I found an empty bench. It was empty because it was facing away from the sun. I couldn't be bothered looking anywhere else as I had a pack of Kronenburg I'd just picked up getting warm in my bag & was also looking forward to a joint, so I kicked off my shoes, stretched my legs out on the bench & settled down for a good session.
I was soon bored & decided to do my own version of Google Street - I'm wheeling out Shitman Street!
This is the view in front of me. Just a few fudgepackers, not much going on.
This is the view to my right.
There's a couple of semi-decent carpet-munchers in this one.
This is the view to my left.
It's not a very exciting picture, granted, but this is Shitman Street, remember, so it has to be thorough.
The view behind.
I got hungry, so went for a burger. I know you lot like your food threads, so I'll do a review.
I bought this sorry-looking thing for about a fiver.
It was crap.
I munched it though.
As the sun began to go down, it was time to go home. A quick stroll back through Piccadilly revealed that most of the people had decided the same thing.
Except for the dealers, who had been kept away from the nice folk all day by the plod.
With that, I went home.
