Yup, my Mum's family come from Elgin & there are quite a few decent distillieries within a couple of hours' drive of there. Lost count of how many of the tours I've been on. My Granda used to take my sister & I to the distillieries when we were on holiday, because they usually give you a free dram at the end of the tour & he'd drink ours too.

The Scotch whisky distillery centre. They actually give tours in here, and you get to taste test many samples of whisky, and scotch. What a great idea! I was feeling good coming out of here. They also have a well stocked gift shop. I found it funny to see whisky tours in other parts of scotland. They best scotch really does come from here.

What I meant, was that we were driving, and in the middle of nowhere there was a whisky shop. I just found it funny. I meant that best scotch comes from Scotland. Glen Fiddick is a good example.

You would enjoy the Glenrothes 1985 in that case.

Or how about this little baby?

Aberlour 30 Year Old Single Speyside Malt Whisky was distilled in 1966 and then matured in two sherry butts and one bourbon hogshead. Only 1,000 bottles of this unique malt whisky have been produced. Aberlour 30 Year Old is packaged in an elegant wooden box and each bottle is individually numbered. Appearance: Deep gold colour. Taste: Well balanced developing fruity flavours with oak and toasted marshmallow-like notes. Nose: Nose of rich Seville oranges. Finish: Long and intense with hints of fragrant heather.

400 quid.

Used to get my Granda a nice bottle of more unusual single malt each time I visited him as an adult. I got him Aberlour, once & he enjoyed it. Never got him Glenfiddich, but I think Glenmorangie was the first one I bought him (when I hit 18). In Elgin, they've got a great whisky shop that sells all sorts of interesting blends & single malts.

^Right, but you can buy it anywhere in the world. The scotch whisky that you buy in Scotland is the best. I bought about ten small bottles, as gifts, and everyone I gave it to could say that it came directly from the source.
I think Scotch can put hairs on my chest if I drink too much of it.

Here is a good website about Scotch.
Since I'm not a man, I think I'll bow out of this conversation now. Puts her Scotch on the rocks down, and walks out the door.

The oak is taken from barrels used in the production of Krug Champagne.

The same is turned into the body of a pen by
'gifted craftsmen'

The finished unit is then blended for want of a
better word in a fancy fashion with sterling silver
and turned out as a very expensive limited edition pen indeed.

You want to buy one.. Get ready for this £600..00 or there-abouts.

OMAS Krug Limited Edition Rollerball PenItem Number: 2589

Fancy isn't it.
