The 'Old School-House' had been converted to a very nice Crafts Shop and Gallery.

I liked the Old Penny Farthing and the Milk Churn.

Interesting.

What a gorgeous building this was.

The Literary Institute.

Now that is a brilliant if not outstanding building.

Excellent.

The property in the village is superb.

This one, I thought was absolutely spectacular.

Except for the silly lights fastened to the wall.

There were some really nice places in The Dales in general of course.

It didn't half put some rain down from time to time as well.

But not a problem, it's being here that counts, rain, hail, snow or sunshine.

It all looks great in any weather.

This pack saddle type bridge was a true specimen.

I bet that could tell a tale or two if it could only talk.

Yes, they do get somewhat carried away with their war-mongering and bombastic type attitude to what we occidentals see as normality.

The 'Bad-Lands' between Afghanistan and Pakistan are a wilderness of mountains, caves and numerous passes between the two countries.

It's plain to see that millions of pounds are being allocated to feed, clothe, train and arm these people on a very regular basis.

It would appear that there is going to be a massive combined forceful attempt to regulate the situation from Pakistan, through the Bad-Lands and into Afghanistan.

Something needs to be done.

We could all be on a 'Sticky Wicket' if the Taliban get control of Pakistan's atomic power.

You don't come across many garages/petrol retail outlets like this old beauty nowadays.

I had to smile at the site in general.

Whatever, or whichever way you look at it, he's no doubt keeping many of the wheels of the local hamlets and villages turning.

This would make a brilliant conversion property.

It was in a fantastic location and looked out over open miles of superb moorland.

Quite a large barn.

It would indeed make a brilliant home.

Fantastic outlook.

Pity about the mist on this photograph.

The barn in the distance, looked a bit like Southforks.

There was only a two lane dirt track leading out to it from what we could see.

A Landrover and trailer making it's way along
this isolated track in the distance.

This looked like a cliff without an ocean flowing up against it.

Once upon a time, there may well have been though.

There was a group of men taking samples
from the rock faces here.
A couple were rigging up ropes,
looked as though they were going
to be doing a little climbing as well.

This old 'Crofters' type cottage complete with
animal pens had seen better days.

You just have to imagine smoke coming out of that chimney.

I bet there are some memories held in those stone walls.

We had a drive over to The Peak District today.

It was raining very heavily here in Lancashire, and didn't improve much at all in The Peaks.

Still it was nice, nice to be able to go out and enjoy the country, regardless of the weather.

I thought, I would use The Snake Pass,
haven't been on that road for a while.

The villages are very beautiful.

It doesn't matter about rain at all.

Nice to see all the trees and shrubs springing back into foliage.

Fantastic, looking at simplicity that is so rewarding.

Great to see how folk take pride in the appearance of their property.

Flobo loved the fish, chips and mushy peas.

I have some more photographs to put on with the courtyard etc.

I'll down load them over the next day or two.

Amazing really how force of water coming down the mountain sides increases with a few hours rain.

Note here, the 'Famous Doctor's Gate Path' going off onto the Moors.

It's a 17 km walk and takes the average walker some five hours.

This is a very interesting link.

Well worth looking at.

You'll be needing some good footwear and decent clothing, it can get very bleak out there, even at this time of year.

Are Y'all ready for this.

It's an interesting and pleasant drive along Snake.

This was nice with the mist around the trees.

Variations in the scenery.

The sheep get everywhere.

Several notices along the road as well, pointing out the dangers of the road, especially to motorcyclists.

The Snake is quite infamous for accidents, especially motorcycle accidents, resulting in, deaths.

A great deal of work has been done to make certain the water is chanelled into the required quarters.

The reservoirs are strategically built.

This was a really nice reservoir.

A totally natural look about most of it.

The fishermen looked happy enough.

Some of the country lanes in the localities we drove through, were absolutely exquisite.

This one was really steep.

Whilst I think on as well.

Those photographs I mentioned from the rear of The Plough.

An exceptionally pleasant courtyard.

Really pleasant for a summers day meal and a pint or two.

This appeared to be one of the cottages they rented out.

Nice enough.

I liked how they had the shrubs,
plenty of colour amongst the seating area.

A lot of thought and good design work gone into the same.

The pub in general reflected excellent levels of service,
with professionalism.

No doubt mirroring why it was so busy for a Tuesday lunchtime.

Good luck to them, it was a pleasure to dine there.
