    Heatwave in the UK...

...and Dr Hilary from Good Morning Britain's top tip for sleeping... wait for it... drum roll... you might want to sit down for this: OPEN A WINDOW

Fuck me! Awesome! Tell me more o' wisened sage.

Just to prove his first groundbreaking revelation wasn't a fluke, he had more advice, almost as perceptive as the first lot - brace yourself, this will blow yer bollocks off... are your ready.....: BUY A FAN!

And with that I simply had to switch off. It was impossible to process such revolutionary information.

That returnee Somtamslap needs his naive optimism about the weather beating out of him; a good winter will sort that out .

In the Uk it's better to concentrate on small victories, rather than wishing for fantasy long hot spells...

So it's going to be warm on Thursday, hot on Friday, then a 48 hour thunderstorm on the weekend, and then back to normal on Monday ...

    hardly a heatwave

    What is a heatwave?
A heatwave refers to a prolonged period of hot weather,
the World Meteorological Organization definition is "when the daily maximum temperature of more than five consecutive days exceeds the average maximum temperature by 5 °C,....

35 here today. Why oh why oh why did i not buy a fan months ago?

Only ones in the shops are those Dyson things which cost about 500 quid. Non, merci.

Later, shall go down by the lake and try and get some air. And take some piccies of ducks.

I think I once saw a film by Jean Luc Goddard that involved a similar idea.

    Oh lord, that too.

I think the female character, played with some panache by Catherine Deneuve, ended up getting royally rogered but in an oblique way.

So oblique that you couldn't really be sure it'd happened.
