Bugs and Norton are able to discuss issues without letting their emotions bleed through. But they also have very moderate views. To the extent anyone strays from centrist, the jackels await (on both sides).

Well if there's a problem it's that no-one else on here has Dr Bob's in depth knowledge on Thai politics and history. Can't say I agree with everthing he posts but I'd be too short of ammunition engage in a real discussion. So perhaps Bob is expecting a bit too much from TD.

For me to do something like write an analysis of statements and speeches from all sides or a guide to Thai political structure or a history of changes in the Thai social system which provide a background to the ongoing chaos and for you to then reply with a one liner saying that I spend too much time with lao khao drinking monkeys is not addressing my arguments, it is not debate, it is puerile nonsense. To my memory you've rarely posted anything that could be considered argument or debate and for you to now say that that's what you've been doing is specious. If you see things wrong in what I way say "on so many levels" why don't you attempt to correct the wrongness by pointing out where they're wrong. I'm perfectly used to aggressive arguments, you haven't provided any. You've just heckled.

With regard to your posts Dr BOb I truly respect your views and accept them as them as being accurate. In fact I am sure I speak on behalf of most TD members and who really appreciate and value your views.

Yes I have noticed that BF has been stalking you but I personally accepted that the reason behind this was the fact that you have mentally and ethically challenged BF. Not the first time I have seen this type of situation between 2 members here.

Your reaction (OP) has somewhat surprised me and that being the fact that BF has gotten under your skin which at the same time I don't believe for one minute.

Whatever happened to BKKAndrew ?

Sorry Butterfly but there was a guy who knew his stuff.

BF is a great asset to TD, with his in depth knowledge of Thai politics, computers and construction and cross gender butt fucking.

I don't think anyone deny that, and that might be the source of the problem with DrB. Knowing every details of something, and having a vast knowledge of historical events, doesn't necessarily mean you will reach the right conclusions or be any wiser than someone who has less knowledge. I mean we could debate for hours on the smallest of details with DrB, and he would always win arguing the tiny amount of facts, but that doesn't mean he would get the bigger picture. Vast knowledge doesn't necessarily mean wisdom or being correct in your conclusions about something. How many historians will have in-depth knowledge of certain events, sharing the same consensus on facts and yet would have different opinions on their interpretation.

I don't think I ever questioned you on your history facts, however I did when you posted opinions or interpretation as facts. My "one liner" will usually address your conclusions, not necessarily your facts, it's very different. I just react when I see total non-sense interpretation being casted as facts. Let me give you an example:

DrB logic: we know that 0+1=1, 1+1=2, ln(0)=1, e^0=1, therefore 2+2=5
Me: you are a fucking idiot, how can you say that ? if 1+1=2, then 2+2=4
DrB: I am right, my facts are right, please prove to me that 2+2 is not 5
Me: I just did,
Dr: No you didn't,

you get my point ? how can I take seriously some of your conclusions when you fail to see some very basic logic pattern,

I did, but you were very quick to brush them aside after you reacted violently to some of them. Again, you must have a short memory because when there is something you don't like to hear or an argument you don't like to address or can't address, you hide yourself in endless factoid explanation that doesn't follow or address the arguments by making all kind of tangents. It's extremely dishonest and insulting, like you are addressing a bunch of monkeys and think they will not notice.

Again I tried a few times, but it was completely lost on you for the reasons addressed above. I think we have a very different approach to address arguments and events. I look at the bigger picture and patterns. You look at mindless and often pointless details to make a judgment call.

I don't always agree with your interpretation, but thats part of life, and personally, I take information from many sources, and synthesize my own take on events. As informed as you are, I don't necessarily think you are the sole font of wisdom (sorry).

However, letting the chattering monkeys get under your skin is just not worth it, and you are comming across as one who beleives he is casting "pearls before swine".

Put the offending poster on ignore, and if you feel that you do not get sufficient feedback to be worth your effort, make those efforts else where.

And remember, a well written flounce is still a flounce.
