I don't know if something has changed with the TDS software or I've pressed a key on my keyboard but when making a post and I hit return for a new paragraph it looks ok, but when I post it it has double spacing and I have to edit it out.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
Honestly have no idea what you're talking about man.
Hit return twice and here we are.
Twice again and still looks good.
Twice for thrice and still fine.

I get double spacing between paragraphs when I copy/paste news articles from any site to TD. Started about 3 or 4 years ago
When I paste into the new thread/post box it looks OK but when I do preview the double spacing appears.
If I paste into notepad first it looks OK with single line spacing and then copy/paste from notepad to TD and the spacing is OK in TD.
But I never get any problem like this just typing in TD reply boxes and posting.Originally Posted by Neo
Probably... seems you can get away with anything on this forum as long as you kiss nidhoggs arse. there's sad fucking wankers with nothing better to do all day fucking the forum up with mindless fucking drivel in every thread and he doesn't do anything about it.. so yeah I know who your friends are nid, they're all circlejerking you off in the shallow end.
Neo, if I may?
When you are going to reply to a post, click the 'Go Advanced' tab.
Type your text in without any paragraphs. Just a few words will do.
Hit 'Preview Post'
Now you can edit and what you see is what will post.
For some bizarre reason if you make a paragraph separation before viewing (Preview Post) it will double space at
any juncture that you have pressed the Enter button.
Once you have Preview Post once, the software won't double space again.
Did that work for you?

I don't think I have ever read a more patronising post on any forum. Neo is a little on the thick side but ......
Digby, it's said that you (not you personally) you accuse people of what secretly you do yourself.
I'm not being either patronizing nor condescending, but just trying to explain, in a step by step process how to resolve
the issue the OP raised as no-one else had done it yet in the thread.
Unlike you, I'm not assuming that Neo is thick, I'm assuming that Neo doesn't know how to fix his problem.
Now, if Neo comes back and says I'm patronizing him, then I'll publicly apologize.
Until then, they are just simple instructions. A logical step process.

While I have you all reading, if anyone can instruct me on how to put smilies in Repo Comment, I'd be appreciative.Assume I know nothing and give a logical step process please

In the above quote, I'm speaking in the 3rd person.
I'll rephrase it.
A pathological liar assumes that everyone lies. Even if the other person doesn't naturally lie.
or ...
A man 'working back late at the office' in reality, is having an affair with his PA.
That same man's wife is home late after going out with the girls.
He assumes that she's had/having an affair when, in reality she's not, she's just been out with the girls.
He assumes that what he would do in the circumstances, she would do also.

Thanks David, I'm on the laptop now with Chrome and realise it's only happening on the PC with Firefox. It only started recently, so I guess its an issue with an update having some incompatibility with the vbulletin software.
I'll get around to sorting the browser issue, in the meantime I'll take your advice and use the post preview. Cheers
If it wasn't for ie, firefox would be the Worst browser ever.
I am glad of that because I haven't understood a word. It's not important anyway, just some bloke screwing up his computer.Originally Posted by David48atTD
