| A Swiss Hike with Daveboy After a plane and a train we arrived in Vevey Switzerland, Its known as the Swiss Riviera and is a beautiful part of the world. Luckily for me my pal Tom currently lives in the area. After a night of excess the 5 of us decided to go for a hike in the Swiss Alps to clear our heads and have a spot of lunch. |

| if you are in Switzerland don't miss the canton of Valais and go straight to Martigny (my hometown) from where you can head to France and Italy by train and bus, through nice mountain sceneries. Don't forget to enjoy the typical cheese meals like fondue and Raclette and the tasty white and red wines available there (Fendant, Johannisberg, Petite Arvine, Malvoisie, etc) I'me sure you'll enjoy the experience. Excursions from M A R T I G N Y in Valais :: Switzerland EDIT: Martigny is just 1/2 an hour by train from Vevey heading to the south. Worst a visit.

| Nice thread dave, you have some great photos there. Nice to see the train with the tooth track for the gear. Takes me back to a school holliday, many moons ago. Thanks for sharing. |

| Hansum Man! | My brother was posted to Zuerich for four years while I was in working in Holland . . . guess who visited whom more often?! Switzerland is stunning, simply stunning . . . and I did enjoy pissing off the locals with my Dutch-style driving in the A6 . . . it also felt good to give the cheeseheads a bad name! Lovely photos, dave
