Dust monkeys.!
Nice pics, it looks like a top end gig. Good luck to you and your future success. Can you hammer on that axe? She is a beauty.
There's a lot of weird and kind of unbelievable but true type shit goes on here.. was talking about the temperature with fellas from the team today and they said that the figures supplied from local weather stations are manipulated and what you get given on your phone app is usually below what it should be and you'll never see the temp on you app go over 50c because that means all the laborers can stop work.. the temp gauge on the car is more reliable, they've seen the temp on the car gauge go over 60c and still there phone will still say it's below 50.. today my car temp was saying 46.5c while moving and my phone app was saying 38c... they don't have government as such here, just very big powerful families.. anything is possible.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
Plus it's Ramadan for the next 4 weeks... you're can't eat or drink in public during daylight, that includes in your car.. so for instance, if I drive over to Abu Dahbi as I did yesterday it takes an hour and a half in 40+c outside with the airco going, you do get pretty dehydrated.. I was definitely feeling it by the time I got back.. but I had to go and won't have to do that again just yet, but for the drivers out there on a daily basis it's lethal, as it impairs your reactions of course. There's a big increase in accidents over Ramadan. It's most dangerous around 5-6 pm when people are driving to Iftar (the feast after sunset) and haven't eaten or drank all day...
but His holy blessings will fall upon you like rain, so that's ok then.
You're a rock star. Enjoy Ramadam at Ground Zero.
It's been a little while and the news on Google includes the Dubai Sulafa Tower fire (see Dubai Sulafa Tower fire: Debris tumbles from 75-storey luxury apartment block in terrifying video - Mirror Online). According to this article:Firefighters are battling the blaze at apartment tower in the Dubai Marina, United Arab Emirates, with hundreds of people reportedly evacuated from the building.
Debris tumbles from the 35th floor
It also says that it'sThey are understood to have told witnesses on the scene that they are unlikely to regain control of the fire as strong winds help whip up the flames.Really would like to know if it affects you personally. If not, is it the biggest news story over there and does The Mirror have its facts straight? I'm so happy for you mate.
Thanks for sharing.
I've just got back from Cairo... what a fucking toilet, will post a few pics if I can find any worth posting. The fire at the apartment block is just along the road from my place. They put it out in 3 hours, it was mostly the cladding on the outside that went up... which for all new builds now has to be fireproof after similar incidents, most notable the aptly named 'Torch' went up, but non fireproof cladding on older buildings doesn't have to be replaced. Nobody got hurt or injured.
Skyscraper on fire..? Meh... happens all the time in Dubai, it's normal
Yeah, good news Neo.
The weather in Egypt has been great, low 30's in the day and high 20's at night.
This was the temperature last night 1 am, when I got back to Dubai.
Off to Kuwait on Sunday... it will most likely go over 50c, especially in the customer's workshop I'm visiting which doesn't have any air conditioning... this is the flipside to living the dream.
Yes but aren't the walls about half a metre thick.Originally Posted by Neo

I bought a little fan i can plug into my laptop, works great. If you want to lose the end of your nose!!
It was 28 at midnight in Geneva a few days ago, i heard babies crying, and dogs howling. Last year it got up to 38 degrees, this year they are heading for 36, during the day.
We do not have airconditioning. Just fans that you plug in.
Every night, there is the thunder - but no storms.
A vasectomy?
That's my best guess anyway. Good luck with it Patsy. It can't be all bad.
To all who read this don't loose the thunder!
the fish
Oh, my bad patsy. I thought you were describing a steamy hot midnight encounter. I try to pull my fish head out of my backside and get back to trolling the depths of the Internet.
I hope you make it through the heat ok and get a little rain.
At night by me the coyotes howl every time a train rolls through. Don't read to much into that. They really do.
BTW great thread Neo. Looks like you had a fun time exploring the area. Thanks for taking the time to post a pic thread.
The way you phrase that makes me think the last two summers are completely off the charts for Geneva. Is that for a day, a week or longer? Any similar weird weather patterns in the winter?Originally Posted by patsycat
Last year the heatwave seemed to last for ages, it was really unbearable. They even opened the parks at night so people could get out and try and get some air.
This year it's not been too bad. But maybe because i moved and now live on the 7th floor - so i get more air.
Next week, back to wearing woollies in Edinburgh, it's going to be 18!!
The winters are warmer too, I can't remember the last time we had snow in the city. At least 4 or five years.
^ sounds a bit like climate change. What's the attraction in Edinburgh? Work?
Haggis?
