How much do you pay for a haircut?

I'm one of those guys who nips into the local barber's and I'm out again 10 minutes later, my wallet just 60 Baht lighter. But I've got this sneaking suspicion that there are some people on here who make appointments and have to arrange a small mortgage before getting shorn. I'm going to make it an anonymous poll to save the blushes of posters like Bangkok Phil, who no doubt also have wardrobes full of grooming and skincare products for men.

i go to the malay barber down the road about once every 2 months.

S$9 for the haircut and a $1 tip.

so about 240 baht. Thats about as cheap as it gets here.

The scale in the poll seems distorted, does any man pay more than 150bt in Thailand? I don't usually go for perming and stuff, my bill is 20bt, and the guy throws in a shot of rice-liquor as well.

50 Baht Soon they will all expect it!

I go to the gay guy in the village who does an excellent job for 60 Baht every 2 months. My wife does it sometimes but she is hopeless. I do it myself in the mirror when at work. (Number 4 all over)

I've tried some women but the piss me off by talking non stop while they have a fist full of my locks and end up doing a shite job. a lot of them are scared of screwing it up as well then do just that.

my clip joint, a 5 chair A/C-ed affair, is an interesting place.

-the owner, a fat thai chink b!tch (or her fat daughter b!tch), sits by the door and collects the dosh on yer way out.
-the barbers are all "subcontractors" that get a coupon after each shearing
-two or three (older) barbers seem to have made this their regular place of employment and from time to time, one or two new hopeful young faces show up but they don't seem to get much traffic (would you entrust your noggin into unexperienced hands? ... I thought not too!)

-at the end of the day, the Profit and Loss Double Entry Accounting b!tch(es) collect and tally up all coupons, detract rent, consumables and all other miscellaneous levies and assorted forms of exploitation cruelties that the Indentured are regularly subjected to and then, and only then, the -piecemeal- workers are sent back to their hovel with a few baht in their pockets to meditate on what the next exciting day of work will bring

I used to pay 60 baht per cut (plus 20 baht tip = 80)
but The b!tch has now raised the price to 70 baht (plus 10 baht tip = 80)

who said that chinks can't run barber shops 'same same' as couponed food court in reverse!!

    What's a tip?

My wife does mine. She can't go far wrong with such a small amount of hair.

never more than 100 baht plus tip or whatever. number 4 all over is the chosen cut as having longer hair hacked at with pinking/thinnning scissors was getting too scary

Nothing, I always cut my hair myself every month with a hair clipper to 3mm.

Better than to have the "nakrian" look coming back from the thai hairdresser.

I pay 200B for a grade 2 with shampoo & massage. I use the place on soi 23 that a lot of the fanny uses, so the scenery is quite nice.

I tried a cheapo place in Sri Ratcha once. What a fekkin' joke that was. The silly cow didn't even know how to use clippers. Never again.
