    Tattoo artist

I'm looking for a tattoo artist with the emphasis on "artist".

I've an unfinished tattoo and I'm looking for someone to help me to finish it.

Any suggestion ? Can travel cheap, so if he (she) is in Miami or London, it's not a problem, it would be a good excuse to spend a few days there, I kind of need some holidays at the moment.

^All great artists, no doubt. But given their fame, how many months (years) in advance do you have to make appointments? And I would guess it would be very expensive, too.

Miami Ink ? why not ? with the bonus to be on their show.

The other option is LA ink, I can flight straight from here, Miami it's a bit longer ...

But as DK says, how long is the waiting list ?

I just send them a picture of my tattoo and ask them for suggestion on how to "finish" it ? You think they will answer me ?

^Why not? It would be an good experiment. Nothing ventured, etc. Would be interesting to see if they answer. You can probably find the address on-line somewhere. I'd send it to both, and see if either answer and compare quotes, suggestions, timeline, etc.

    Let's try

Miami ink : Love Hate Tattoo Studio - Miami

    LA ink : (((~HIGH VOLTAGE TATTOO - HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA~)))

Now the problem is to chose the artist ...

If you are willing to travel like you said, then the first thing to do is research in to what tattoo artists specialize in the particular style of your tattoo. All world class tattoo artists are specialists in different styles of tattoo. A great tattoo artist in one style does not mean they are a great tattoo artist in another. That is if you are that serious about it.

^Agree. ^^That said, Ami at Miami Ink does some incredible work. But, as EN correctly points out, much depends on the style of your existing tattoo.

Sorry for the quality of the picture but that's the best I could do given the circumstances.

Pretty basic but I like it. It was part of something bigger but I had a bad feeling about the tattoo guy so I settled for something simple.

Now I want to finish it but I realize I'm no artist and I need help ...

I'm going to check the artists from both sites and see who I like most. Or i'm just going toe send the pictures to everybody and wait for the suggestions ... if I receive any

    Yes, it's a bull.

The original project was a bull and lion face to face, but the guy couldn't make the lion right so I settled for the bull.

So now I've two options. Either I go back to the original idea and try to fit a lion in the picture, but how ? I've no idea. Or I just go for something that looks good ...

I'm blind. I can't see a bull in that. Great eyes English. Seems to me that you could do a lot of things with that tattoo Perota.

Just FYI I found this event coming up. It has some famous names in tattooing if you can afford that.

Don't overlook Japanese tattoo artists. Some of the best in the world IMO.

Should be able to turn the bull into a fine piece of oriental style art if it's what you fancy.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but does anyone on here know of any good tattooists in Bangkok? Preferably artists that have good drawing skills and that can design a tat from scratch.

^ You're not hijacking anything. That's what I'm looking for too.

Just if the right guy is not in Bangkok I'm willing to travel.

I was going to say that Joy Wong in BAngkok is an excellent artist. Opposite gullivers in sukhumvit road .... hmmmm, is it soi 5

I just noticed that Bobo beat me to it.

But I'll agree with him, she is the daughter of the famous Jimmy Wong.

I'd love to know the answer to that one. I'm also wondering if they just do appts that would make good tv, now... Did you try & contact them, Perota?

Any reasonable tattoo artist has a waiting list, these days.
Why, even this one in Barnsley (!) has a waiting list for appts of over 2 months. I know, as I'm booked in for one in October.
