Red Shirt Wannabes Savage and Farrell

Just wondering: For those of you who live in LOS, haven't heard anything about Farrell lately. Is he still in jail, ranting away? For those of you in the UK, has Savage made the talk show circuit, or dropped out of sight?

Connor Purcell is waiting for his court hearing, he has already submitted a guilty plea via his lawyer. I guess he will get sentenced to a custodial sentence but be released in to the IDC directly from court with time served, from there he will be deported.

Roomer has it that the prison corrections department has been begging the the PM to be allowed to free Farrell on the grounds that he's driving them nuts.

However the PM is still pissed that the corrections department embarrassed him by executing two prisoners so that they could extort more protection money from prisoners on death row. So Mr Farrell's in for a long stretch.

Seriously though, I was under the impression that Mr Farrell was pleading not guilty, thai courts are much more interested in processing guilty pleas; so if you plead not guilty you can wait a long time for you slot in the court calendar. I think there is or was a UK father and son, featured on 'big trouble in little thailand' I believe they had been waiting in jail for over a year for their trial to start. I think its all to pressure you to plead guilty what ever the truth and cough up a bribe to three.

You probably mean Mark Veerasawmy and his son Sonny. The father was sentenced to 18 years and 9 months quite quickly, his son was on remand for about 18 months before being sentenced to 4 years.

^My fault. I got the name wrong in the thread subject line, and don't know how to edit it.

    An associative slip.

Savage and Farrell were greenshirts on an IRA holiday trip to Gibraltar in 1988 with a suitcase full of Semtex. You wouldn't get that through customs these days.

Oh I dunno. ThB 500 to a Suvarnabhumi security guard and Somchai's your uncle. Just tell them it's for personal use.
