    Cool a beer with . . .your haircut/your paint/your books?

a bit of light hearted banter

coming from NZ/Oz and their well-regulated and policed licensing laws, had some time to think today about places I can enjoy a beer here

our local paint/hardware store; stocks tractor spares, bicycle parts, electrical/plumbing, builders supplies etc, the genuine 'general store'. And has a beer fridge and two sets of tables/chairs outside. This is what shoppers at Bunnings/Mitre 10 etc need, real man stuff, buy some nails and drink beer)

the stationery store, school supplies, picture frames, fluffy toys, and a window display of medicines and condoms. Beer fridge next to the icecream freezer just inside the door.

the internet cafe - this one I like, when my edge aircard isn't up to serious music downloads I head down with my memory sticks, get comfortable with a beer and read the news

and today, the hairdresser. A chilled Chang was most welcome after a drying 44km ride to get there. But not as enjoyable as in my previous life, the wondrous place near Chalong Pier, Phuket where beers before during and after were an option, as was the massage upstairs. "Just popping out for a haircut, dear"

    where's yours?

Beer nearly everywhere, takes the worry out of finding a cold one.

Shopping for furniture yesterday Wang Nam Yen, huge shop all locally made and some quality items there.
And dead-centre of the shop - the fridge, beers for the men, Spy wine cooler for the ladies.
Next stop was the computer store, sad to report they did not sell beer.
