Not meaning to be a killjoy or owt, but if that stuff was actually important to any of you guys & gals, why didn't YOU have possession of it? I'm not into material things & have hardly any reminders of my past, but anything material which is important to me is with me. I wouldn't expect anyone else to store it or recognise its value to me, sentimental or otherwise.

well what about butterfly's barbie doll, then?

...can't expect him to try carry it through customs with that extra large and greasy bunghole he made in it without arousing suspicion, can he then?!

I've got a load of old albums. Many are listed as extremely rare and valuable, but I still can't get anyone interested enough to take them off my sister's hands. I'd be willing to give them away; I hate the thought of them being thrown out.

Car boot sales the answer. Whenever I've done a ' booty ' back in the U.K. and turn up with a box of old albums ( mostly such unbelievable shite that I've convinced myself it must be worth something ...... Yul Bryner sings for fooks sake ) the record dealers swarm around like flies around a hot turd. If you do have anything worth anything they'll pounce on it and give it a good new home and your sister will be a few quid in pocket.

I'm keeping mine though . I wonder what a mint copy of ' dark side of the moon ' complete with original poster fetches these days ?

This was back in 1998 worth $90k then new exhaust and body undercoated to protect it, motor rebuilt and new wire wheels , was my investment took me 2 years to get it to that stage, was travelling to europe so left at parents house, my dad was starting it and keeping it for me. He passed away and dear old mum sold it,
    someone got a real deal.

If you can find out what it'd cost to ship 'em I'm probably up for paying for that.

I'd then get them out to LOS in due course.

How may albums are we talking about?

A recent telephone conversation with my mum didn't go too well. She informed me that a skip had been hired, along with a couple of chaps, to clear out the loft, and that all my JUNK had been chucked out.
    The junk included:-

A pile of letters from my first 'real' girlfriend, dating from early 1970's.
My handpainted lead soldier collection (Napoleonic era).
    An extensive fossil collection.
A signed copy of poetry by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
All my biking gear (leathers, boots, gloves and helmet).
Unreturned library books i borrowed in 1970.
    All my university work.
    Engraving tools (for cleaning fossils).
Diary i kept for 7 years whilst at boarding school, a great literary masterpiece of day to day life 1970-1977.
Box of black and white photos (see above).
Football sticker albums from about 1968-1973.
Collection of porn mags my dad gave me.
My first suit (A very tasty purple pinstripe with lapels wide enough to kit out a medium sized sailboat).
Assorted box of singles with no middles, 1966-1970.
    God knows what else.

I would like to hear from anyone else who has suffered such tragic loss at the hand of another, so as to ease my suffering in this hour of need.

Yes i had a similiar 'nasty' done to me !
Whilst i was away, my ex decided to get rid of the old early model Holden car that i was going to restore for the last 20 years !
She had it towed away, never thought of looking in the locked boot to find and remove several thousand dollars worth of very good tools. Also she threw out a couple of boxes of special books which i had collected and was going to get a nice book shelf for.
Its not so bad now as i finally got rid of her
