I married there a few (3) years back. We rocked up in the missus's lunch hour with no reservations and got married no probs. The whole process took about an hour or so and the total cost was no more than a couple/few hundred baht (this included 2 copies of the wedding cert in a nice holder). We didn't have a witness, but if the registrar requires you to have one then just grab a stranger off the street. Make sure all you paperwork is in order and you will be in and out in no time. For all you "romantics" out there. We did have a proper wedding before with all the trimmings, but needed to get the paper to make it offical. Goodluck on the wedding.

Provide the UK Embassy in BKK with a notarised English translation copy of the Amphur Wedding Certificate, and they'll forward it to Somerset House (or similar) in the UK. Doesn't mean that the wedding is registered in the UK, only that they have a copy should you ever need one.

Oh, and congratulations! Went through the same process last December, but only Amphur, no 'temple' wedding.
