    Snipers

"Has Thailand set a new precedent within S.E.Asia by employing army snipers to "control", disburse or just kill civilian protesters ??
Is this a first for Thailand and Asia ? ( or any where else. )

I can't recall any Asian country where the clinical ( and cynical ) application of snipers has been even been alleged.

    Did it happen here ??

Thanks to the TD member who thought of it first.
For what it's worth, Thai Visa closed this 6 minutes after posting.....

I don't think that there is any discussion to be had on whether or not snipers were operating, of course there were.

Should this thread now be closed due to its pointlessness or did the OP really mean to ask another question?

I am presuming that the OP is making a point in that Thailand must be the only country in Asia, or perhaps anywhere, where a government has used snipers to kill civilains.

And, though I may be mistaken, I believe him to be correct in that statement. It is amazing how peaceful a Buddhist country can be

The most remarkable thing is that no explanation or responsibility is being proffered by the authorities for the use of snipers, an estimated body count, or, at whose command the orders were given.

    - leading to the far-fetched theories that the victims must have therefore been shot by their own side.

    Sniping.
The most fun you can have with a high powered rifle.
I love seeing the blood spurt on headshots.

Somewhat clumsily, that is the point I was trying to make.
    ( Sorry but I'd had a few when i posted )

I don't recall similar events in other countries where it was so cold blooded.

I suppose they do whatever they can get away with, and here, for the time being, they can get away with a lot...

Who knows the truth about anything here in LOS. The only snipers who we can confirm exist usually hang out at those BJ bars.
