To be fair to hillbilly, he admitted that he made a mistake, apologized, and they both moved on. Dalton held no hard feelings, and to drag the incident up again is unfair in my opinion.

Shame, cos I quite liked the big bastard.
Almost miss my daily red exchange with him.
I wonder what happened to the fish farm?
Many of us think the net is nothing more than Xs and 0s floating around. At times this is totally wrong.
I was stupid in my initial remarks to Dalton and have since then apologized via Pm and then in full view of the TD family.
So is it really just some Xs and Os?
I miss Dalton and his comments.
Me too.Originally Posted by hillbilly

Let's get some thing going here.
You don't think Dalts might be Missi do you!
Now that's a scary thought,
Fair enough...I never saw this...and if i remember correctly that HB kept a rather low profile for a while after this. So I did not see where or when it was posted.
Still, one should remember ones past when one is telling others to 'oh behave' and what to do.....me thinks.
I like poisoning my neighbours dogs till they die cos I'm a cnut

Next agenda TD needs to crack down on is posters who deliberately misquote others.

Thats why I think this thread is so funny.
Just as well, after your last performance as one, and the subsequent flounce and name change after being booted out, why would you.Originally Posted by Sir Wilson

Back to the topic.
Seems to me change is needed at TD as I mentioned on another thread.
For the sake of discussion, let's leave moderation and the owner out of the discussion and assume appropriate moderation must follow. The subject has been done to death.
For what it's worth, my thoughts.
Goal:
A TD that continues to allow for lightly moderated banter in some forums (MKP, Members, Lounge) but offers forums for those who don't want to engage in such banter.
If this can be achieved then the forum will add more value to more members.
Someone said (think it was Ant) TD is about it's members. I agree. No members no forum.
So is the above goal what members would like? If not then come up with something else but leaving things the way they are seems at best short sighted given the size of TD and the challenges our size brings. Without a consensus on a goal, game plan will never be put in place to get there.
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect,"
You can't leave moderation out of it.
The problem is enforcement and penalties for breaching TD protocol- are there going to be bans/jailings/some other form of 'punishment' for breaking the rules (which will make TD much more like TV)? If so, it's going to come back to fairness and favoritism re: the decision-makers (mods/admin)- unless you start with a fresh member base, it's going to be a daily struggle which will require constant moderation, and the sections in question will become 'nanny states'.
I agree with what you're saying in theory- I can't see it working out in practice given the current membership (that's not a negative comment- for the most part I like the current membership- but they're not a group that's going to be easily corralled).

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
