How much is your life worth in Thailand?

Lets look back over the past few years of Thailand and see how much your life if you are killed in Thailand is worth...

If you are Canadian and are killed by the Thai police your life is worth a transfer to the Thai policeman, think back to the Pai shootings by the Thai policeman, 1 canadian killed and one wounded, so Canadians aint worth much...

If you are American and you argue with a Aussie and get executed in a Chiang Mai restaurant your life is worth 2 years of an Aussie being in a Thai prison, yep thats all you are worth, although I thought 2 years was a bit harsh when Canadians aint worth nothing, but hell, I aint Thai.

Anymore examples of what a farang is worth in Thailand?

Oh, don't bother with Lao, Cambodians or Burmese, if I pumped my cess pit into the drains of Thailand it would be a more serious crime than killing any of these.

I'm sure this thread had potential when it was first conceived, unfortunately it has not been realised.

If you're a retired brit living in Roi-Et your life is worth 2 thai lives.

Like Ian Beeston, who was murdered and his wife and her lover were sentenced to life.

Toby Charnaud was worth 4 Thai lives as that's how many were sentenced to life for his murder.

Michael Wansely was worth 2 lives as 2 thais were sentenced to death for his murder.

So those 3 lives alone are seen as equal to 8 thai lives, by the logic given.

    Go farang!

So a Canadian is worth a transfer.

A Seppo is worth 2 years.

A Brit is worth 8 Thai lives.

Seems about right. What are Aussies worth? 6 months?

If I were a cynic, I might say that the worth of the farang life is directly proportionate to the number of people involved in his murder.

Unless the part(ies) involved in the farang's murder are cop(s). Then his life is worth approximately zero irrespective of nationality. Revisit the Kanchanaburi case- everyone was afraid to testify, and some clown was as I recall somehow persuaded to confess to the murder. One thing to bear in mind is that this is also true for Thais. Chop a girl's arm off because she won't let you rape her and what do you get, if you are cop that is?

Depends on the perceived social status of the killer(s) and killee. I think Thais quite understand and empathize with a young Thai girl, with her new boyfriend, who push her 80-year-old husband off the 20th floor balcony.

There are a lot of "Brit's", especially in the Pattaya area most notably, and other nationality's that are worth less than the shit the soy dogs leave on the roads, still I naturally think the Thai Police must afford due process also to the farang heaps off shite, in this case a big poo bag, a big bin, and quick combustion should suffice.

The drunk off duty cop, murdering that young Canadian boy reveals some of the dangerous fundamental flaws and random risks in Thai society, we all have to make the choice if the benefits of staying here outweighs those risks, and I guess most of us, think they do by quite a margin.

Of course. That stands to reason.
