Thailand...good things that happen to you here...

Today was a good day......for starters... I went to Korat Immigration.

never have I had a nicer experience with immigration anywhere like at korat every time i have been there.

Today, i went in with all the paperwork, expecting to be asked to bend over and go do this and go get that yaddah yaddah.

I was in at 8.30am and out at 9.30am and this was for an annual visa, not just 90 days or a re entry etc.

The lass that looked after me was smiling and laughing and a real treat to deal with....she even made a funny when i asked why we cannot mail in 90 days anymore. She went off at a hundred miles an hour in english the reason why and then said..."anyway, it is only once every 3 months, why you not want to come and say hello to me once every 3 months".

For the very first time also, I got handed back paperwork, no more to get, they actually gave me half of it back as not required. I added about 15 more items that they do not ask for, but look good with stamps and official signatures and shit.

Twas a satisfying experience......don't fuck it up you lot with any sour puss attitudes in there.

2 customers that stood out while I was there.....a guy that was at least 60yo and a 19yo gf.

A guy and his wife/gf that had just got out of bed, did not even brush his hair. Saw him later sitting in the back of a pickup....where he belonged...the back a the bus.
I like poisoning my neighbours dogs till they die cos I'm a cnut

Then this afternoon after some shopping, we had to get the car windscreen replaced. They told the missus it would take 1 to 2 hours to do.

We got to the shop at 2.15 pm and were gone by 2.45pm.....now of course this could mean it was not put in properly and might blow out or leak.

But the trip home was fine.

Today we picked up an order of Steak and Kidney pies, S&Onion pies, Quiche pies, Cornish pasties, Sausage rolls, Lasagne, Thick and thin sausages, cumberland snags and thick sliced smoked bacon.

My son had a lasagne for dinner, my daughter a quiche pie, i had a sausage roll and a cornish pasty.....and wow were they good.

The sausage roll and pastie were the best i have had here....very tasty.

The lasagne my son loved and i tried, he scoffed it all down. it was very tasty also, although i prefer it a little more tomatoey...this was more beefy.

    The quiche was good also.

next will be the pies and the snags.....twas a good find and not expensive either and so far tastes great.

Great stuff nawty, I do like positive posts.
My last experience at immigration were good as well, as long as the paperwork is complete, you sail thru.
There is always some asshole ready to fvck it up for the rest of us tho' and the last time was no exception, some dick head ranting at the counter girl because she didn't speak English.

    Immigration in Mataphut has changed.
For the better or the worse I am not sure.
There used to be a very old school ie corruptable middle age woman sat on the right as you walked in.
She was bridadier, major, captain, leiftenant, sargent, private Bunghungry Thaiclown from the Thai Immigration Police.
She was an expert at sniffing out minor infringement of Thai immigration law.
Standard bride for infringement.... 1000 baht.
But, if you wanted something not quite cosha, she was your girl. Nod nod, wink wink.
Brilliante, one rule for the rich, one for the poor.
But alas, the old scamster has made enough money to buy a better job with more scamming opportunities, and she is no longer there.
    It's a double edgrd sword.
Now at Mataphut minor technical details are overlooked but visas are issued within the guidelines etc.
    No bribes...
Which whilst you are not being fleece by Ms Bunghungry, can be a pain in the arse.
Falling asleep and waking up is not the same as passing out and coming to.

When all the original construction was going on there, manila envelopes a foot deep were being handed over the counter. All the staff had Mercs and Beemers parked round the back, at the time.
The sense of entitlement was tangible. A bit later, after a lot of "customer" complaints, all the staff were moved; Ms Bunghungry was probably the last in line of a team of avaricious schemers. Sadly lamented, as she at least scammed you with a smile and asked about your family. She also issued receipts for scammed money, so you could claim it back from your company. I for one miss her immensely.
