The North does give us nice skies for morning coffee and evening herbal tea balcony time.

People have long debated whether cannabis is a sexual aphrodisiac, but you can’t argue that marijuana isn’t found in a sexual lubricant. A new intimate oil called Quim Rock infuses high-grade THC into a lubricant designed for women to get sensual, therapeutic, and sexy results.


Quim Rock bills itself as “a self-care line for humans with vaginas and humans without vaginas who love vaginas.” While there are other so-called “weed lubes” on the market, Quim Rock is formulated with not just women’s pleasure in mind, but sexual health too.


“Cannabis-infused lubricants harness the aphrodisiac properties of cannabis to increase blood flow, enhance sensation, and decrease coitus-related pain,” Quim Rock co-founder Rachel Washtien tells SF Weekly. “Quim Rock’s cannabis-infused intimate oil is different than commercial lubricants.”




Normal lube is really only useful during that explicit moment of genital or anal play. But Quim Rock is a topical THC mix that can add spicy sensations to enhance role play, busting out the handcuffs, or slipping on that furry suit.


“Think of our product more like foreplay for your foreplay,” Washtien says, recommending you apply Quim Rock 15 to 20 minutes beforehand to achieve the desired effect. “It is intended to be used not only during sex, like most commercial lubes, but at any point to set the mood, to help people get into their bodies.”


Quim Rock comes in two varieties, Sensitive and Curious.


“Our Sensitive formula is perfect for people who are predisposed to UTIs and yeast infections, incorporating only cannabis, coconut oil, and tea tree,” she explains. “Our Curious blend is for those who tend to be a little less sensitive, with the inclusion of a titillating blend of essential oils.”


But these oils don’t include synthetic chemical irritants.


“Most of the personal lubricants people are using are not only chock full of parabens, but are glycerin-based, which can be a real source of irritation for folks who are prone to yeast infections,” Washtien points out. “Our products not only increase libido and intensify climax, but serve as a vaginal health supplement, acting as a prophylactic for UTIs and yeast infections through the use of tea tree.”


Washtien and co-founder Cyo Nystrom spent years trying vaginal health products to mitigate UTIs, yeast infections, and vaginal dryness. Eventually, they just invented one.


“After years of research and countless trips to natural health stores and the OB-GYN, we still couldn’t find a consistently available product that would alleviate our symptoms,” Washtein says. “After discovering the aphrodisiac benefits of cannabis, and seeing a need for the incorporation of vaginal health into the conversation around intimacy and cannabis use, we knew there was a place for us in the conversation.”


That conversation uses the quirky old term “quim.”


“Quim is an Old English derogatory word for vagina,” Washtien tells us. “We loved the idea of using a word that has historically been taboo, as a big part of our brand mission is to end the shame so often associated with vaginal health.”


SF Weekly’s rigorous testing found Quim Rock to act as a normal lube on male parts, but did generate sensations for women. It is truly a women’s product.
