The weather is nice, no smoldering plastic and heavy equipment or roosters within earshot.

It could be worse, I could have bought another headache in VTE.

Out of interest, how does the policing of that work?

Is there some sort of radar detection system, or would it purely be down to someone seeing you operate it and call the rozzers?

Pilots, cops, security (ha), citizens in the know (ha!) could report you.

Drones over a certain size (forget now?) could appear on passing aircraft's radar.

I dunno. Risk isn't worth the possible nastiness that could follow.

I did notice JJ park and the neighboring Wachirabenchatat park have no drone notices and the security officer at the latter thanked me for asking and said, "No, it would mean trouble if you launched here."

Haven't attempted to fly in King Rama IX park as it's closed for renovations now, but I believe all public/govt. parks in Bkk are closed to drones from now on...

PS: touristy temples in Issan require special permits (beyond the standard one) available with 3-4 weekday wait obtainable in the main city of the province.

They've defo tightened up.

A "pilot" at a drone shop in MBK told me recently, "Bangkok and Thailand is wide open for easy drone flights. They don't even have legislation pending." Moron.
