Spot on. You know the area then? I used to live just down the road at Victoria. We ended moving a little more into civilisation, as it was little too remote, even for Mrs Ast. I regret that now, as little Ast loves it up there.

Were thinking of going there for a weekend very soon , I'm guessing its about 25 degrees now ?

n&g, yea, all the rental bikes where I went were the same. it was really ok for cruising around the city on a Saturday or Sunday. Here in Warsaw, I actually took a tour in addition to the bike rental. 100 pln or $30 USD for bike rental and a 3 hour tour of the area. Meeting location is directly across the street from the National Museum at a cafe with all the bikes parked outside. Tour time 11 and 1500 everyday. Let me know via PM if you want the info. Don't worry about the girls bike. Not a strenuous ride at all. Plenty of stops and picture taking and give a good orientation to the immediate area. There is also a free walking tour starting at 1100 everyday from the old town. The bikes by the way have 3 gear internal hub. Very functional.

Some random shots on my travels in the last week

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

I would say practice makes perfect mate, but they're just random shots with the Canon Ixus 80 and my phone camera. Neither have a very good lense when it comes to wide or distance shots, everything ends up curved.

How you getting on with the GX1? All those setting you have must be a bit mind boggling. On the TZ6 I usually underexpose a third of a click and then use a three burst shot with a third of a click each way spread. That gives me one on full (0) exposure, one a third under and a two thirds under. It's usually the 0 setting that comes out best but I like the deeper contrast of underexposed shots also and with a 3 burst spread it gives me a choice of pictures to choose from.
They don't all come out good, but snap enough and I'm always bound to get a few good ones

Mine? No. Goodwood Park is nearby and they have a yearly event for high power classics and race cars, so this time of year you see all sorts out of their garages and on the roads. This one happened to be at a fuel stop, I'm sure it see's plenty of them. It's an original GT40 though, no doubt with a race pedigree.

^ Bloody nice back garden there Nigel. What could be better than having a decent bit of real estate to relax and plant a few edibles in.

My first Ms Bangyai often pined for a garden to plant things in because our maisonette only had a small detatched plot. If I'd have owned something like this we'd still be together ............... albeit her 6ft under the patio and me on top having a beer.

    Bogon boring fact #274

This baby was named the GT40 because it is only 40" tall.
Notice on the drivers side there is a little bump on the roof where your head fits in.

The updated version is actually a few inches taller.
