The guys in Chiang Mai where I got one done were pretty good. Good artists and have a very good reputation.Originally Posted by Milkman

I got my first tat 1 week before my 40th birthday.
I was pondering hitting the big four-zero and thought that I'd get one to see what it was like. I designed it myself on my computer. I got the second one a couple of weeks later.
They are on my upper arms so they are hidden away normally, the only time somebody other than my wife or a doctor would see them is if I go swimming or something.

Thanks, Marmers.
Since I already have a tatt and have had it for almost 20 years, covering it up - enhancing it, or adding on to it, is nothing.
I'm nearing 40 and don't really care. It's on me shoulder, anyway. But symbolism and some meaning is important to me. This is where the creative side, and the thinking of what to get, comes in. But this is good.
I'll keep you posted.
Because of the recent visa rule changes and work permit fiasco in 'Nam I might have to do a visa run to Bangkok.
If so, I'll make a holiday out of it.
Gotta wait about 7 weeks before I know for sure.
Anyway,
Marmers, you planning on any more ink?
Any other members here thinking of adding on?
I probably think about it at some point every day, problem is my Mrs has set an embargo between me and tattoo studios since she went away for a few days a couple of months ago and when she came back both my elbows had been drawn on.Originally Posted by Milkman

It's amazing what a good tattoo artist with a good eye and imagination can do to an unwanted tattoo.
I thought to sleeve my arms out, but glad I did not as I would have regretted it.
The two I have on my upper arms are enough.
Any fool who decides to get a tatto, deserves to have wathever the outcome is, good, bad or anywhere inbetween. I personally think that most tattos are done after the person has had way too much to drink. The IQ of the individual, is expressed in the tatto that they decide to get. Tattos are for idiots.
My mate, who I expect a few of the Bangkok based members know had a tattoo done by this quite famous tattoo artist in Hong Kong. This tattoo guy was made famous because of the celebrities who he has worked on and I forget how much he charged but the fee from memory was a small fortune.
Anyone heard of this guy and he sometimes comes to Bangkok to tattoo some the Thai celebs.
For those with crappy tatts that they want to get rid of, the only option in the past is painful & expensive laser removal... Here is a new topical product on the market in the US that is cheap & effective...
Wrecking Balm Tattoo Removal System | Remove your tattoo without a laser!
