Where can I find this for Mrs. Chi?

Probably not a "lounge" topic, so move it if you must.

Mrs. Chi has been looking for some large glass containers for storing rice that she can set out on the kitchen counter top. She wants something that can hold a decent amount of rice and it must had a wide mouth on it so she can scoop the rice out. So far she has just found some gaudy plastic crap. We have looked at Central, Robinsons, Makro and Big C.

Do you have anything similar at your house or have you seen something like it anywhere? See pic below.

Thanks in advance!!

The best place to buy all this type of kitcheware is a shop behind Big C in North Pattaya just off Pattaya Nui Rd.

Most of the restaurants in Pattaya and Bangkok buy all their kitchenware, cutlery, plates, food storage containers and other hardware needs from this particular chain of markets.

Very cheap and of the highest quality.

Otherwise my 10 litre (2.5 gallon) buckets are probably the most cost effective, air tight and pratical containers for the storage of rice you will find and there are 4 sets waiting for Mrs Chi when you come down to Pattaya as an early chrissy present.

Really. I bought a lot of my kitchenware across the street from Foodland in Patters. They had some "real"coffe mugs and some nice sugar and cream sets that the wife liked. Also got a butter plate, syrup container and gravy bowl / ladle.

Not a bad place to shop mate but overpriced with little to choose from and when compared to the other place I mentioned.

In fact almost every farang mates wife who come here for holidays I take down there and they buy up shed-loads of stuff because they say it is so cheap but great quality.

And the buckets I am offering your missus are white so as not to clash with your kitchen apron!

I bought some nice big open top plastic storage containers at Rim Ping In CM.

very easy hold 5 kilo and the lid snaps on tight so no bugs ever in the rice.

Is there an Index Mall or Central in Pattaya? The ones here in Phuket carry those sorts of things.

In Bangkok you could try Loft in Siam Discovery (or whatever the mall next door is called) or Ocean Glass on Asoke Soi 3.

There is a shop on Wireless Road near the Vietnam Embassy. They have all sorts of hard to find kitchen stuff and may have something that fits the bill. A bit pricey but worth a look. Sorry can't remember the name of the shop but it's on the left side of Wireless about 500 meters from Pleonchit/Wireless junction.

Well you don't know what your talking about then.

Yes there is a lot of shite in there, like most other markets but some of the plates, cutlery and other stuff is of the highest quality.

In fact I have seen exactly the same stuff for sale in DJ's in Sydney and other upmarket retail outlets in other countries for multiple the price.

bwahahahahahaha your a joke, just cause you say its good quality does not necessarily mean it is.

As for DJ's and other upmarket retail outlets, why shop there when you can get the same "quality" in Kmart and BigW.............for less.
