It isn't that easy sadly, ihave never been scared of being sandboxed by google as I don';t spam them much and td is nice and clean, we are a nice clean non spamming site that most mail servers will accept, ie our emails normally go into the inbox rather than spam box, but what we are about to do in theory is fuking brilliant, in practise, in theory though I have no fuking idea, probably should have asked marmite.

how about if you gave every member his own delete button and asked him to remove /clean-up his own shit that he has posted over time?
i know i could delete at least three quarters of the shit i have posted over time.
i think most members would be happy to do so.
a couple who still end up with 13000 posts after the cleanup could be handed over for cleaning up to the members who recieved the most reds from them.

The idea theoretically is great, tighten up the good stuff and dump the shite, my initial idea was thought out wrong, we really need it out of this database to keep things fast, so I got a new idea

chuck the old crap on an un used domain on a free server, I mean this is the real crap on td that got maybe 78 views and 20 replies never to be seen again stuff, we are at present wasting resources on that type of rubbish when we could just farm it out.

Best start in the Lounge. Doesn't make much sense to keep Newbie threads running more than a couple of weeks either. Wouldn't mess about with Construction, Gardening or Kitchen forum. Most of the stuff may have few responses but is good for reference. The News threads which are dated a bit (old news) need to be archived but accessible IMO. Same with outdated Issues.

If mid wasn't so good with tieing in the news I would probably set it to self prune itself, but mid takes the time and effort to tie it all together, ie arrests and then court cases a year later he ties it all in or bumps the old one, so I won't be touching that forum.
