I certainly wouldn't trust anyone with a dagger in school.
Dosen't matter if its symbolic or not, its a terrible example to set to the other kids

My neighbours are sikhs and are cnuts, therefore according to the standardised approach above, they must all be cnuts. As for the knife, the sooner secular approach comes to the UK the better.

I have 3 kirpans by the way, they are blunt as fuck, big rounded edges, far less damaging than a ruler.

Story in the states today about a 6 yo cub scout who carried an all-in-one eating tool to school that had an attached knife... The school has a zero-tolerance policy and they suspended him for 45 days... More PC bullshit...

I have just started my own religion. Dogcatcherism. My religion only allows me to wear a fox fur posing pouch and a leather cock ring although I am allowed to wear a flat cap turned backwards and a pair of Rayban Aviators whilst riding my motorbike. I am also required to carry my ceremonial .50 cal chain gun at all times which has got me into trouble at work. The headmaster at the school where I teach says it sets a bad example as the children are only allowed to carry ceremonial small arms like 357 Magnums and with the odd exception pump action shot guns but only on religious grounds and definately nothing automatic.
This has outrages some Arab and Asian parents that argue that their religion require that all children carry fully automatic weapon with the safety in the "off" position at all times. The school said that they realised this but there had been too many ceremonial drive by shootings of late, and whilst the ceremony is perfectly legal and now a cultural and human right it was making "a right mess" of the pavement outside the school and the vegetarian street sweepers from the council were starting to complain. I for one am with the parents on this one. I think that all children should be forced to wear fox fur posing pouches and carry .50 cal chain guns. Dogcatcherism is, after all, the only true way.
Anyway. this Monday was "bring a bomb to school" day. This is an event that was forced apon us by the parents and after increasing pressure by human rights lawyers the headperson had to agree to it. It's quite fun really. The children are encouraged to make ceremonial improvised explosive devices at home and then bring them to school to compare their ideas. There's lots of laughing and joking about and a few explosions but nothing serious and a good time is had by all. At the end of the day the kids re enact some of their favorite suicide bombings from folk law. The most popular seems to be a quite recent one set in Bagdad. Little Mohammed, bless him he was only 6 played the bomber and the victims were all played by infidel children. at this point no one expected him to actually blow himself up but it did add to the heir of authenticity. It made me jump and I nearly dropped my chain gun.
Afterwards the parents arrived and there was lots of chanting and singing and the ceremonial shooting of guns into the air. The bodies of the christian children were dragged around the playground by the parents in their Chelsea tractors and then dismembered for souveniers and trophies.
It's not like the old days though. I can still remember the days when we were only required to bring a knife to school. It was much easier back then. The kids these days have to carry their ceremonial small arms, ceremonial ammunition, ceremonial explosives and that's just the primary school children.
I asked GF what she thought. I had to shout loudly as she is crated up in a plywood box as is necessary under Dogcatcherist law. She said, "Let me out you fcking bastard. I'm gonna stick that chain gun up you fcking arse and empty it"
Lordy, I only asked if she thought that we should go back to the days of letting children take only knives to school.

I used to date a Punjabi girl here in the states and here family were all Sikh. They were really nice people. They wear and do certain things as representations of Sikh ideals.

These are the five articles of faith:

don't cut their hair/beard.......honesty...he can't hide his appearance

wear a special undergarment.........fidelity...respect of females

wear a bracelet made of iron.......meditation on spirituality

wear a sword/dagger....never bowing to tyranny or cutting to the truth

    carry a wooden comb........equality

    Actually it's spelt Sikh.

Rules rules rules, hate 'em when they don't suit you, love 'em when you do.

Motorcycle rule is fine, just don't expect them to sue when it doesn't go in their favour. I'd rather wear a turban than most of the helmets available in Thailand.

I'm guessing, but I imagine knowing nothing of history would help explain that.

I don't think there's any indication that this could be used as a weapon. As far as I know - and I might be wrong here - they're not functioning daggers. I suspect this is a combination of low-level secularism and, much more importantly, administrators covering themselves in the extremely unlikely event that something bad happened. In other circumstances it would prompt the usual tabloid by-the-numbers health-and-safety-gone-mad story.

Certainly the ones I have are blunt as can be, but i also agree that it should not be in a school. Sikhs have work symbolic daggers by choice for generations in London, no reason why this kid should be any different.

Sadly the few gravy train seekers shed a bad light on all Sikhs, many of whom will be rolling their eyes and muttering under their breath.

Why would that be surprising? Muslims and Sikh are *not* the same thing -- they may look alike, to you, but that's doesn't mean they are the same.

True, the Sikh is a gentleman and it is never allowed to draw the knife in anger and I never heard if it happening. Read the works of guru Nanak and compare to the hate filled filth in the koran and you can see why the Sikh is different, and in my opinion spiritually far superior to the average Muslim. Sikhs have supported British forces throughout many wars, including the Indian mutiny. They only started to use this show of arms after being attacked by Muslims in several wars when the Muslims attempted to wipe out Sikhs.
