i read an article last night leading me to believe a thai woman, make that spouse, cant borrow money against the family assets without the spouses signature. any one have experience ref this.

the local money lender doesnt need any thing. i know of a guy that just lost a new forskiner after while he was away she handed over the car papers and borrowed 500k which she lost gambling.

If his name is on the title also, then legally she can't. Because it needs 2 signatures to sign off the loan.
But of course if she goes with private loans from any joeblow loan shark, or any of her friends....then it's a different story all together.

If you're talking about a loan against the house, then normally she can,... because in most cases her farang husband's name is normally NOT on the title/chanote. Basically the house is solely hers, LEGALLY... and she can do whatever she wants with it.
