Call for entries in the Ultimate Thailand Explorers Competition: (www.ultimatethailandexplorers.com)

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is calling on all Internet savvy world travelers to enter the Ultimate Thailand Explorers competition. Selected by online voting, five teams will be provided with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: 6 all expenses-paid days exploring the attractions in five of Thailand’s world famous holiday destinations: Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui.

Each day the teams of competitors must visit the many fantastic attractions and activities at their chosen destinations and then share their experiences with the online community by uploading videos, photos, and stories on various websites including, youtube, facebook, twitter, and blogs.

Online voting for which team produces the most exciting and informative videos about the attractions and activities in their destination will determine who are the Ultimate Thailand Explorers; Participating teams and registered voters are eligible for more than $25,000 in cash, travel awards, and other fantastic prizes!

Applications are being accepted until October 25 for teams of two people who must record an original audition video and upload it to YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.. Thailand’s world famous holiday destinations: Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui.

Muggings and extortion aside, it sounds wonderful.

Dodge the tuk tuk's in BKK. Run from the jet ski conmen in Fooket. Avoid bottle wielding lady boys in Pattaya. Take a "real" trek to see actors in Chiang Mai. See what used to be beaches on Koh Samui. The trip of a lifetime!

Coudn't they have picked a few better locations to promote? Or maybe these places get so much publicity anyway it was easy to jump on the wagon.

I flew in last week and was a bit shit faced when I got on the plane, when I woke up i was shocked to see I was the only person in the back part of the plane. It was like one of them scary movies and everyone had been killed. Anyway once I did get off the plane I counted about 10 of us
