remember when the government lost all those bank details with the SS a few months ago ?

Doesn't half make you wonder when they aquired the number.

If it was recently or not.

Have they been sitting on it for a few months or have they just got it and used it straight away.

If it's been recently that means that it's somewhere local, either the Co-OP ATM at the Co-OP or the petrol station. Only places I've used it in the last month.

Once online for stagecoach.

If it's a while back then that opens up a whole world of possiblities

I got an e mail telling me i had won 500,000 euros on the Euromillion Lottery. Didn't know Nigeria was in Europe.

I don't carry credit cards and have very little money in my ATM account because I do not trust existing security systems.

There has been mention on this thread to bank over the internet, or in fact conduct any financial transaction by way of cyberspace is a huge risk due to the fact personal information and codes can be stolen.

I agree wholeheartedly with these doubters and deal with most things > cash only.

I get paid by internet into one account and then transfer it by internet into another account, then go to the bank and withdraw it all and then put it into another account which has no internet banking connections whatsoever.







Then the missus spends it all.

Probably the petrol station, i won't let anyone touch my card and they don't like being told to fuck off i'll do it!

I'm suspicious as well.

As I said, Stagecoach last online purchase in months, not sure why I didn't use my visa card for that, as I normally would.

Co-Op - maybe, I have had a lot of problems with their machine before when paying.

ATM outside Co-Op - I check it every time I use it, but I could easily have missed something.

Petrol station - maybe again, used a new one on the motorway on Wednesday evening on the way home. Again, didn't hand it to anybody.

UK has changed a lot. There is no need to hand my card to anybody anymore. Everything is done by those reader machines.

The people managed to change my verisure password for visa though, which is why I was notified that something was wrong. As far as I can remember the verisure thing relies on you presetting up additional security, think it needs everything including security code on the bank. Then you have an additional password to the site.

There are keyloggers Corrupt bank officials and of course "friends and family Over the shoulder cameras and scammers knee deep stick to cash

The real scam? Buying into the system...

Just close the account and get the new one. This is what most people will do, just to be save.

Personally I haven't had any problem with my cards.

lucky though, checked this morning and there were two largish payments into my account that I thought weren;t coming until next week.

I agree with what Loy Toy said, keep it cash unless it is imperative to do otherwise.

when you do any transactions at branch level, are you not 'net banking' anyway albiet on another level?, i have been scammed once, i reckon by a skimmer now i notify my bank of my travels before i go, and i hold my bank accountable for my funds security and its in their interest to look after me as i have told them on occasions of toing and froing for other bits and pieces, so these days they do seem to go the extra mile to look after me

That is what really gets me going, the slimey twats don't need to even touch my card but still try to get their sweaty little hands on it and they really don't like it when i tell them to fuck off and not go near it!

Only ever use my card at the ATM to get cash out.
