Where can you get one of these machines? Would it work on hamsters and kittens?
Chicks 'ground alive' by poultry producer | World News | News.com.au
A CLIP where thousands of discarded baby chickens are shown being ground up alive at the world's largest egg-laying breed hatchery has been released by animal rights activists.
Mercy For Animals said it witnessed the cruelty during an undercover investigation at the Spencer hatchery in Iowa, run by Hy-Line international.
The organisation said nearly 150,000 male chickens who hatch every 24 hours were separated from females, and, because they were unable to be raised for egg production, tossed into chutes which haul them away to their deaths.
"They are destined to die on day one because they cannot produce eggs and do not grow large or fast enough to be raised profitably for meat," the group said.
"Their lives are cut short when they are dropped into a grinding machine where they are torn to pieces.
"Over 30 million male chicks meet their fate this way each year at this facility."
There was a clip of a conveyor belt hatchery feeding chicks into a machine in the movie Baraka but it did not pan down to show the mashed chick meat coming out the pipe in the bottom.
I bet the mush gets shipped by the barrel to KFC to make the spicy sizzler wraps.
