When you take it back make sure he has sold you the correct RAM.
I could be wrong but I think most dual cores take DDR2 RAM.
DDR2 is also half the price, so that will help with your new HD
old trick. sell shite and offer to fix it.
for a fee.
i cant believe they sold you stuff that was crap.
what do they think?
"oh maybe it will be ok after a car ride"
fucking idiots.
cost me 1300 baht for 1 GB- and it doesn't wotk!!!
sooo, what's it mean when a stupid person get's over on you?
Hopefully, what comes around goes around - and it was a Wednesday - a bad luck day for Thai cunts!
sounds like his luck was good to me.
and you are about to trust him to fix it.
he will have both your money and the computer and still have a bill to give you.
i think if you trust him again he will see the error of his ways. try it.
If you don't have the knowledge to buy the correct RAM type , then for fekks sake bring your computer into the shop and let them do the upgrade so we don't have to listen to your whining.
Serves you right to spend another 500 on diesel!
As I said, bring the computer and let them insert the module.Originally Posted by Missismiggins

sure, blame those who listen to you.

have you got a copy of the mobo manual ?
1 gig of ram at 1500 baht is taking the piss I think - though DDR3 3200 may be that expensive
your PC is only a P4 , my main dual core is only 866 Mhz FSB though the mobo will support 1066.
what speed is your front side bus running at - that is what determines the speed your RAM is running at as that is the bus that connects it to the CPU
is this your mobo manual ? http://download.intel.com/support/mo...d3610502us.pdf
how did you decide on that memory ?Memory • Two DDR SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets
• Support for DDR 400 MHz and DDR 333 MHz DIMMs
• Support for up to 2 GB of system memory
looks like your memory runs at half system bus
RTFM
from reading the manual I think max it will only take 2 x 1gig sticks and you only need to get slow stuff - prob 533 is the slowest you can get new now but your mobo only does 333 or 400Mhz , but the ram will still work

If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.
Well, i feel sorry for you Missismiggins. This place can really suck. torch that fucking heap, have your son throw it out of your car as you roar down the highway doing 150km hr or if you are in Pattaya take it to the top of that Pattaya Park tower with you and just heave it off! You could also heave it into the shop owner's car's front window too!
I would go in there and shout a lot, make everyone look so he gets ashamedOriginally Posted by Missismiggins

here are the BIOS update release notes http://downloadmirror.intel.com/1173...leaseNotes.pdf
check what version of the BIOS you have now - hit the delete button and navigate around till you find it
latest BIOS is here
IntelĀ® Desktop Board D101GGC BIOS Update [GC11010N.86A]
read the readme - http://downloadmirror.intel.com/11738/ENG/README.txt
it might support a single 2 gig stick in 1 slot with the latest BIOS
it might be worth a try if you are confident enough - flash the BIOS ( if you do not have the latest already ) and see if it boots correctly.?Fixed reboot issue with certain memory modules.
the latest BIOS also says
you would have to hit the forums and do a bit of reading to see exactly what that means.?Updated processor support.
