Thanks JJ and as you know I very rarely give a Pom a rap!

I really believe if Scampy got one good break, a chance with a company with a proper supporting team and a bit of money he could become a successful TV character and I am not only talking about Thailand.

I always find Ian Wright's self-effacing humour quite engaging. Scampy almost has a slightly clowning bit of his style going on in that clip.

It is that self-promoting bint Megan McCormick that I find unwatchable. I could cheerfully wring her neck like a chicken.

Thanks Scampy, it was very well done, the best yet! the countryside shots gave me a lump in the throat and made me miss LOS, rolled up laughing at the end when you disappeared, I bet DD had his finger on the go to jail trigger in the shower scene, I don't know why KW bothers to post, just to keep his verbal diarrhoea posts up I guess.

Fair enough - though we'll see how long that'll last.

In all fairness, the video's production values are fairly decent, including composition and editing - he just REALLY needs to learn how to post-process (i.e. how to upload to YouTube).

I would actually consider to give his abilities a look and consideration for an upcoming project on one of my next trips.

How many sites do you think he uploads to? I upload to 7 sites, they all have different aspect ratios, have a look at this one and note the embed size is not even the same as youtube, heres a youtube have to click the top bar of the youtube to go to their site to see it in there aspect which is completely different to the embed aspect size.

heres another site I use completely different aspects sizes.

That first landmark is a hill near Bung Khan. I was too scared to walk on the wooden walkway around the mountain, None of the thais would go, and got excited when I walked on it for a few metres.

I thought it was very funny and well done compared to most of the expat TV I see, it takes a bit of imagination and a genuine sense of humour to get the ideas for the little icebreakers in-between the serious stuff.

    Good job Scamp.

I thought it was hilarious, in a Mr. Bean / Benny Hill kind of way... Loved it when he popped the mozzie in his mouth and chewed it up...

well after all the fuss, decided I'd better actually watch this one.

Scamp, loads better than your early efforts. That is really something, I take back everything I said, you've really improved, and I'm pretty impressed that you've done all that one your own in a bedsit.

All the best to you., I think you'll get picked up by a network sooner or later. In fact, you really ought to be going to the Brit, Aussie and American Chamber of Commerce network evenings to promote yourself better.

The difference is that your video's original aspect ration is 4x3, which on YouTube gets presented with black bars on the sides. But your video does not get distorted - at least it does not appear that way.

Scampy's original video is obviously in a 16x9 format -- I downloaded it, and adjusted ration to 16x9 and everything looked normal and no longer distorted. It's possible to upload videos in 16x9, and have them retain their proper wide angle ratio (upload them as 1280x720, for example - or upload in 4x3 with black bars top and bottom, but that reduces overall picture size when on YouTube).

Basically, he's not doing himself any favors if he's uploading distorted video.

Example of a wide screen 16x9 video (HQ):

Example of a 4x3 HQ video:

Those are two sample videos, which should publish from my YouTube account. Clicking on the first one takes you to YouTube where it is presented in full aspect ratio, while your embedded YouTube plugin still presents it properly, albeit with black bars top and bottom.

Click on the HQ button on both to improve the quality to near VCD quality or better.
