Should I join the tin-foil hat brigade?

I had the strangest experience during my vacation.

I woke up in the night and when I opened my eyes something defying description hovered without a sound right in front of me, clearly visible in the dim light from the window.

After looking at it for a few seconds I stretched out my hand to touch it. In that moment the object disintegrated into its components and moved swiftly in the direction of the window, integrating themselves into the patterns of the curtain.

I can think of two possible explanations:

    1. I am being observed by advanced aliens who build devices which are able to hide in the curtains of my bedroom when I am awake but hover over my head at night.

    2. There was a glitch in the part of my brain that processes input from my eyes and that image was produced in my brain from the patterns in the curtain.

But I can tell you it looked absolutely real.

So what do you think. Should i join the tin-foil hat brigade?

    Never done that.

But I got closer to be an alcoholic during this vacation.

I had a bottle of San Miguel Beer almost every week.

The tabs where pretty shite really IMO, micro dots now your talking!

Hallucination's whilst still half a kip and waking. Pretty normal.

My Birdseye meal for one 'Beef Dinner' on the other hand had peas in it that were partying, no word of a lie they were doing backstroke in the gravy and allsorts of weird and wonderful things.

    Thats another story though....

    Neither.

You had a lucid dream, except that while you were 'conscious', you were not aware that you were dreaming. This is not unusual - it is the source of nightmares (the actual kind) and in more primitive cultures the source of many myths (including alien visitation myths)

If he wasn't aware that he was dreaming then he wasn't having a lucid dream.

Get a tinfoil hat and burn the curtains. I can also sell you a "magical glass sphere" (that is 118% gauranteed to make any alien shit itself), for a very modest sum of dollars.

    Annoyed, but Schadenfreude.

You do it because it re-energizes the ignored person trying desperately to attract your attention. The ignore function would be far better if it were reciprocal.

If I would believe that I probably would have joined the tin-foil hat brigate already.

I have read parts from your link. Quite interesting but it does not fit. I really was awake and it was just an optic illusion. Right after those elements had moved into the curtain I got up. I refrained from checking the curtain but went directly to the kitchen.

If you were around Panglao Beach, your hallucinations may have been caused by the Scandis putting whacky weed on your pizza...

How many times did you see the hallucination???

Was it at the same time of night / morning each time???

Surely, by the second time you saw it, it would have triggered examination of your state of mind at the time; ie: am I awake, am I aware of other things around me, do I smell or hear anything???

Like the one who put this sign up near Alona Beach?

Oops, for some reason the inserting of a photo does not work.

    Again no luck.

A picture of a street sign warning of elks. But the closest things to elks in the area are goats.

    Stroke

I'm not a physician, but hallucinations, visual or otherwise - for no good reason is a symptom of impending stroke.

I would go to a reputable clinic with a CAT scan ASAP and today, right now, IF your blood pressure is normal to above , start taking a couple hundred mg of aspirin a day ( w/ food ) BUT Don't do this with low BP..

Just awaking from sleep that would probably be not too unlikely so a reasonable reason.

Probably good advice but I had one just a year ago for other reasons. The Physician told me, my brain is in excellent shape CONSIDERING MY AGE.

I'm afraid I will hear that last part more frequently in the future.

I have recently started taking Ginkgo-leaf extracts to increase peripheral and brain blood circulation. It seems to work too. I am not sure this is compatible with aspirin. It may even be contributing to this incident.
