    How Lucky Can You Get?

I was warned never to send anything valuable, like electronics, via the Postal Service from your country to Thailand. So I took a chance(saving tens of dollars) and had a netbook sent from the U.S. via parcel post, to me here in Pattaya. Normally a letter takes about 14 days. This parcel, clearly marked Used Notebook Computer, got to me in 8 days! And in perfect condition.
The moral is: don't believe everything you read or hear about. BTW, I did NOT send it via registered or certified mail, just regular parcel post.

That might be the trick- at any rate, in my experience registered or certified takes a lot longer.

I would believe what people tell you as I have had more parcels sent to Thailand than hot dinners in the last 10 years, Some have turned up 3 months late and some just disapear never to be seen again. Registered mail is the best way to go

This Bimbo back home, sends me money she owed me in cash, she says. Sent it registered mail Registered US mail means fuck-all in here. This is 6 years ago. She insists she paid her bill and it is up to me to collect fromthe postal service here, She even sent me the registered mail receipt (now why did THAT go through?). Would of wiped my ass with it, but it seemed a might scratchy.

Oh yeah, the Bill? that one's a write-off, I'm afraid. Fuck it.

The mail man that used to deliver here to our estate got caught stealing and dumping mail (I lost a birthday present and some monthly letters from home in that period), the post office had his replacement explain and apologise to all when he started on the round, since then as best I know all my mail have arrived.

To be fair though, thieving postal workers is not just a Thai thing.

hehe I remember the PO in Haadrin. You'd get your mail, but it was already open and the stamps were missing.
