Went to barbers / hairdressers today - Bolton, North West England. I got charged GBP 9.00 / THB 450 for a wash, cut and dry. What's the charge in Thailand for a basic haircut? Assuming the missus don't do it that is! MH.

I pay 40 baht for a skin head cut, but normally he charges 60 baht for a real haircut.
60 to 150 Baht is what I pay, depending on whether it's a barber or a salon.
I got trims with a shampoo, and a head, neck & shoulder massage for Bt200 and tip. I do miss those massages.
120 baht in Bangkok,...........60 baht in Khon Kean,..........but nowadays free,.the girlfriend does it
it doesn't look as nice nowadays,........but she's happy
80 baht, that includes a head and shoulder massage, trimming of ear and nasal hairs, the removal of small dead insects from the ears, and a full shave. By full shave i mean the barber takes the cut-throat razor all around the face and neck and finishes off shaving the ears. I often doze off. A bloody great way of spending half an hour for less than 2 quid. :)
Wash, colour (yes, I'm admitting it!), cut, condition, blow-dry & pedicure for 550bt (I bring in my own choice of hair colour, though).
local hairdresser about 200 baht.
Essential if you don't like red.Quote:

100baht round here. It says 60baht on the board but falang get done for 100--thinks we can't read I suppose. That includes nose, ears and neck shave.:chitown:
Depends, most shops here charge 40 baht and I tip most and just leave a 100, in a salon the girls charge 120 baht with a shampoo, and if the barber is a Katoey they charge 40 but want to throw in a BJ for the same price.
My wife always goes with me so I am safe.
and 25,000 rupiah (which is about 80 baht) in indo.
Generally around the 100-120 Baht mark, but cheaper options exist....just don't expect a "cut", more likely to be a quick once over with the clippers on grade 3.
Seems that way in the salons, at least here and in Chiang Mai, but I go to a very good barber, mostly shears and very little clippers, no thinning shears and clean nice shop for 40, but thats what it is in all barber shops here, I don't go in salons here as my wife is about the most jealous broad I have ever seen.Quote:

50 - 100 bt is the norm. Anymore than that you should be expecting to walk out of the salon with an empty sack.
not at siam paragorn or emporium.Quote:

Last haircut I had in Thailand was at Sattahip 5 years ago and cost 30 baht from memory, probably about 50 Baht now. Free ear clean included. No tip as it was a Thai neighbourhood.
^^ I've stopped going and just cut my own hair, but when I did go, when they did the shave bit at the end, they'd always start shaving parts of my face that don't have hair.
Ears, cheeks (face cheeks) and fore head. WTF.
Previously 450 with shampoo, some massage by the pretty girls in the back, and cut at the most hi-so in korat... he closed, was to expensive for that town! he is probably in Chiang Mai now, should be called ONO still, a gay, ex steward from Thai Airways, always plenty of entertaining talk while working...
Now 150 thb a shaving cut with number 5 and some head massage, Bangkok suburbs.
