OK, they have the address that we give when we do the 90 day thing or some Thai has said a farang lives ther and they just checking and confirm the addy. So they can protect us, But didn't say from what.

This the address as of my last 90 day report, the one before was CM..
And my wife is living here with me instead of her own home, but we are in the same mailing address except house number and MOO number..

Sounds like your wife has not reported it.
If the police were looking for trouble they could have pulled her on it so it was probably just a routine check.

Get your wife to send in a TM30 so that she is covered in the future

I think it's the one where the tabien bahn holder must report any foreigner staying at the house within 24 hours of arrival.

Last year Nong Khai Immigration started enforcing it for some people whilst others haven't been checked. When you go to do your 90 day reporting or to get a letter for a driver's licence they will check - 2000 baht fine for the owner of the house if you hadn't been reported.

I don't know how it affects yellow tabien bahn book holders.

They knew I lived here, I said so on my last 90 day report, And my landlord has probably let them know I was renting his house and living there, he is a SGT in the Thai Armored.
And I have notified my landlady in CM to get me off her house book so I can reintate my Yellow book back in Phetchabun.
And they are checking all farang to see if they are living where they say they are.
They went from here over 2 blocks to a farang friends house and have left there so I guess they know where we are living cause they go to that address to check.

Why would this effect my wife, she has her own house and house book and I rent this house so it doesn't really concern her as she stays here, but still has her own house in MOO3 and I live in MOO12.

Yes....it might be in preparation for raids in the middle of the night and marched off to concentration camps......I think I will rent 2 houses, one where we live and report nuttin, the other the official residence....but never home....specially on 'that' night......I am allergic to gas.
