Yes, warm/hot here too. Well, yesterday afternoon was. After extravagant Sunday roasties chez RJ, we drove home for a siesta and actually put the aircon on for an hour in the bedroom. No need at night but it's definitely warming up.

Its been building for the past few weeks here, Im stuck upstairs most of the day, very humid. Thank god for the rain yesterday, cleared the air a bit.

35 here in Phuket yesterday - had a 10 minute shower the roads were steaming and the humidity shot through the bloody roof !!

Yes, it's getting hot.

It started last week. I noticed that it's a little early for the heat, usually.

But it's here.

It is steaming here in Pattaya and we also have had some unseasonal heavy down pours in the last week. Helps with the gardens.

Thankfully we always seem to have a sea breeze which certainly helps regarding comfort level but I am expecting a very hot summer.

I just have a hunch this is going to be a unusual 'hot/dry' season.....remember the rains came early the last couple of years.

Must say itis very nice in Brisbane Australia. Had a perfect summer with almost every day at 31 degrees. Mind you, north of here was under water and south on fire. Worst summer for disasters in as long as I can remember

Well, no idea of the temp, but my back and shoulders got sunburnt in my walk to the temple and 20 mins of cleaning and feeding (& the work in the garden with home dogs this am). Time to start trying to remember sunscreen at all times, I think.

We must live on the wrong side of town, we had some thunder last couple of days but no rain, and it 38 now.

Hotter climate, storm surges likely

By: BangkokPost.com Published: 22/02/2009 at 03:34 PM National Disaster Warning Centre chairman Smith Dharmasaroja on Sunday warned that this year's climate will be hotter than usual, especially in the northern, northeastern and central regions.
Speaking at the event to promote vegetarianism, Mr Smith said a very hot climate will raise the soil evaporation rate, making it difficult for farmers to grow crops and they would have to use more water for farming.

According to the meteorologist's forecast, the country may experience summer storms travelling at 40 to 50 kilometres per hour, and they could devastate households and unstable advertisement signs.

He said there would be more storm surges in the northern, northeastern and central regions following the drought season in May.

If people do not help protect the environment and alleviate global warming, Bangkok will definitely be under water by about two metres within decades, he added.
