Have you met some one really famous!

Ok. We moved in to the house I'm living now 1963. Around Christmas that year there was a knock on the door, my mam opened it and shouted to me to "come here" There was four men there with trays of mince pies, so I took a few, and they ruffled my hair and stuff before going next door. It was The Beatles, they were practicing in the local hall and doing some PR stuff.

Was supervising the assembly of some CAT dozers and trucks as part of the reclamation project after opencast mining in Paradise Kentucky( was a CAT roving "on call" service manager at the time) - must have been in 1979 (ish!) and had just flopped out after a 10 hour shift.
Phone went - truck with CAT engine broken down 20 miles away - priority customer - fuel pump buggered - you got one in your stores - GO FIX!!!

    F*ck!!!
Got up got the engine details and the pump and set off with a meccie.
Found the convoy of 6 trucks - changed the pump and was about to set off back for a much needed sleep when the convoy head honcho said the boss wants to see you to say thank you !
Went down the road a mile or so and there was an enormous Winnebago.
Inside came face to face with one of my favourite C & W singers - Don Williams!!!
It was his road show convoy !

Ended up getting "rat-arsed" on Jack Daniels and left as the sun came up with a complete Don Williams collection of tapes ( now on CD) and a JD decanter ( full) that, to purists annoyance. I still use to keep my Mekong in !!!! ) It fits in the fridge perfectly !

    Not unless you consider.......
    Greg Norman
    Burt Reynolds
Pete Rose (professional baseball player and should be hall of famer)
Pete Johnson (professional American football player)
Rick Mears (former Indy Car Champion)
    Rick Berman (Star Trek producer)
    Micheal Eisner (Former Disney CEO)
Joe Namath (American Hall of fame pro football Quarterback)
Dale Earnhardt Sr. (former NASCAR Champion) died 2 weeks after I met him... RIP Dale.....there's more to that story too, but I'll save it for another day..
    Paul Tracy
    Juan Montoya
    Danika Patrick
    Jacques Villeneuve Jr.
    Etc. etc.

To be famous persons as well there are many others that I can't even remember or name either through my second career or through my primary business as clients which most of the above were..Like Tex says though as professional courtesy have virtually no autographs....

My much younger gf took me to some gig in London with her stunning 16-yr-old sis...heading for the car we saw the numero uno about 30 yards away with his entourage and the girls squealed, then began to natter comparing how each wouldn't mind dying for his autograph...off I went with pen and paper, caught his attention with an 'oi' as I approached, strolled passed a couple of confused heavies, told him I don't have a clue who he is and to be honest didn't care much for his offerings but my girls want his signature for some reason or other and if I don't get it they're gonna give me grief...the street went silent...he smiled, reached for the pen and a couple of CDs from the sherpa's bag, asked for their names and scrawled undying love to each and thanks for turning up. I still don't know who it was, and still think he was crap.

Otherwise the only celeb I really liked was Sammy Davis Jr.

I have given Bob Geldof a massage and I've had lunch with Uri Geller at his house in Reading, Berkshire. I also played pool until 3am with J from 5ive after hours at his mums pub but that was when he was well famous, doing his crappy rap thing in 'Everybody Get Up' or 'We Will Rock You' - long before he was on 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'.He's the most famous person ever to have attended one of my concerts too.

Nah wasn't gay, it was with a wooden thing with balls on, the gayest thing I did to Bob Geldof was lift up his pony tail.

Oh yeah, didn't meet Queenie but could've literally bumped into her if I was that way inclined...after an Earls Court Tattoo I was next behind her Rolls...had an ex-Special Branch V8 at the time, happened to come out of a side street into Finborough Road just as she was passing, flashed a 'hi', and for some reason the next car slowed down and flashed to let me in, probably believing I was part of the crew...followed down Cromwell Road to Hyde Park Corner at a royal cruise and must confess I was tailgating for a short while, then was harshly boxed in and brought to a standstill in the middle of the Corner by several cars that seemed to appear from nowhere at the same time, lots of activity, and they wanted to know who the fuck we were and why we were in the convoy. Fortunately the tipsy army guys I was with weren't easily intimidated and took the offence, ridiculed them as a bunch of tossers that haven't yet learned not to let anyone get so close to HM just because they flash, and told them to piss off or be prepared to fill out lots of forms explaining how they managed to fcuk up the escort.
