    Thread of the week award.

Yep, time to recognise the excellent work that a poster has put together with a "Thread of the Week" award.

Every Sunday arvo, those present online, will be able to vote for their choice of "TotW".
To make it workable, we'll restrict it to the Captain's Lounge but maybe there's an out clause just in case one gets moved to members.

The award will be a sticky on the front page for the duration of the week.
Of course this will be a league as well with a table running on the side so, as you've likely tumbled, there will be a "Thread Starter of the Year"

Criteria will focus on threads with over 45 posts within the week, bulking up threads with the usual mindless chaff will result in exclusion.
No special favours for nudies (appreciated nevertheless) as the membership will select the winner.

Right get to it! *44 to go!!*

I think I may win this one, I already have a thread which should be difficult to beat and there will be more, there will be more!

Those Tv threads would be a hotly contested affair.
Maybe a seperate one for the members land.

That "show us yer cordless atachment" ain't going nowhere Nick!

I beg to differ, there's some serious discussion going on over there - it's all I can do to hod some of them back - it's always going to be a touchy subject, but it's one that had to be brought forward.

I think one of the TV mods who post here should open a thread with a quote from their mods forum.

    That should do well.
I'll fill in with some hilarious pms and warnings I received.

Not wanting to sound like a grumpy-arse, but 'The Thread of the Week' will comprise the posts within it. The opening post may be a pile of tosh....Not that I'm bitter that this is yet another contest that I have no chance of winning.....I've only ever won one competition and that was a competition for the person least likely to win a competition...I won that twice.
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!

Go get a life or is this your life? Just in case you didn't know, Teakdoor is not TV so why is it so important to you to talk about another forum? You're a sad case.

You, sound like a grumpy arse?
    Couldn't happen.

It could be a lottery danbo, that's a fact.
heaven forbid, if posters find something remotely interesting in NickA's thread and it takes off (prolly have to be a Smeg post!) he could be the winner.
It also helps to point folk in the right direction to have a good read, or to wonder why a particular thread was selected.

    Now to important matters...
I saw "Shaun of the dead" last night and (what could be a contender thread).....

Which character in "Shaun of the Dead" do you resemble the most?

    Shaun.
    Ed
    Liz
    Dianne
    David
    Mum

Great idea Poolie. When can I see my "American" and "Show us your repo" thread on the front page?

Actually I will change my mind and vote for Ice Maidens Marraige topic. It has brought some interesting points of view from the people here.

    Great idea.

Makes it more fun to scan some threads that were interested and fun over the week.

When I recall the "TeakDoor Captions" fiasco I suppose we've come to expect Wally's great ideas to go pear shaped!

Ruminants thread for me all the way. Informative, entertaining, nice pictures, no nastiness....I'd drop MrsQ's opening post though and award the thread to skulldigger.

I am deeply honoured but I would never take the credit for somebody else's thread. Here is another one to ruminate over:

    The Gemsbok

Wow, skulldigger's like the tall handsome stranger who strolls into town and and beats up all the bullies while all the women, and a few of the men, stand about and swoon over him.....I love you skulldigger <- Now, there's a sentence I never thought I'd have occasion to utter.
