    Any Update on Thaksin?

There appears to be no reasons given as to why Thaksin and his missus had their visas revoked. Surely the lilliy livered bastards governing the UK must provide some reasoning, with the chance to appeal? seems a bit unfair!

Convicted by a politically motivated bunch of hypocrits, (whom themselves have profiteered whilst being in office, and also one of the judges was getting payment as a lecturer at one of the big universities..but..hey what the hell, that doesn't count, as he was providing a "social service"!)

So if the boot was on the other foot, how many of us would be a bit pissed if the Thai government (used in the loosest of terms) were to revoke our visas because of a previous "Drunk and Disorderly", shoplifting from Woolworths or whatever, committed outside of Thailand? Smells a bit rotten to me, and the spineless bastards in the UK have put up the white flag!

It was the one place I thought he had a chance, shouldn't have sold that football club!

But, it's been a long time since I lived there and it appears to have lost much of its previous values.

    Wait and see what happens.

He has been offered a job and citizenship in Bahamas.
Will be interesting to see if UK immigration will let him in when he arrives as a Bahamian which will entitle him to 6 months with no visa

If you have a bit of spare time, you really should go and check these two sites out - asiasentinel and thailandcrisis

Asia Sentinel - Countries - Thailand

Thaksin, burned by rage, threatens to “name names” « Thailand Crisis

Just have a look at some of the comments on asiasenntinnel left by Thais....

And the bits about the English getting their houses paintbombed...anyone heard anything? It's all quiet here in Moo Bahn Retard, except for the customary Loy Kratong/Beiruit Bombings.

It's funny, though, today I had Tom Waits on for a bit of "happy listening" and I ended up listening to "Singapore", there is one line that rings true here...."In the land of the blind..."

I am sure money had something to do with it,……….this is mine and that is his, kind of thing,….. when the courts and the government try to figure out how much to take from each of them.

Also she might have understood he was becoming too much of an embarrassment for her and her children,……..and she wanted out so that she could sleaze (slither) her way back into the Thai (World) Social Elite communities.
Her excuse,……….he made me do it. Please forgive me.

Sept. 11 Suspects Offer to Plead Guilty at Guantanamo

Dec. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Five al-Qaeda members accused of planning the Sept. 11 terror attacks offered to plead guilty to charges that may lead to execution and the martyrdom some of them profess to seek.

Relatives of five of the almost 3,000 victims of the 2001 attacks witnessed today’s hearing in a military courtroom at the U.S. Guantanamo Bay Navy Base in Cuba.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who claimed he was the mastermind of the attacks, and his co-defendants said it was “our earnest desire” to admit guilt in the 2001 airline hijackings that brought down the World Trade Center in New York, damaged the Pentagon near Washington and led to a plane crash in Pennsylvania.
Mohammed said he wanted to end the proceedings because “I do not trust Americans.” He and two co-defendants said in June they want to be martyred for the attacks.

The hearing may be the last before President-elect Barack Obama takes office and begins carrying out his promise to replace the war-crimes tribunal system for detaining and trying alleged terrorists.

    ‘Absence of Contrition’
“There was a complete absence of contrition. They were laughing, they were clowning,” said Hamilton Peterson, of Bethesda, Maryland, whose father, Donald, and stepmother, Jean, died on United Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania.
The five men “were proud to be guilty,” Santora said.

    Bloomberg.com: Worldwide

It looks as if they will get the martyrdom they so crave.

But why has it taken this long? If they want to admit guilt and not even contest the case against them, why aren't they already sleeping with their 40 virgins??

Seems a bit OT there, but yea, why fight the court when you know the verdict has already been decided.

The way I read it they had to identify, locate, capture and then 'torture' the slut before his earnest desire to confess kicked in.

The US government is shit scare of putting any of the cases before a real court, simply because their evidence doesn't stack up and the methods of obtaining such alleged evidence would be considered illegal under real US law.

Some of the detainees probably are really nasty terrorist criminals, but we will never know the truth under the corrupt legal system they are tried under.

Gitmo was never intended as a legal process to bring international terrorists to justice. It was only ever intended as an interrogation and holding camp for suspects. The vast majority of detainees have been released without charge after years of detention and interrogation. Now that any evidence the US government has against these probable terrorists is tainted and would not be accepted in a real US court of law, their only way to justify the US governments criminal acts is to set up a military tribunal kangaroo court and find the accused guilty as charged.

These guys are thumbing their nose not only at the legality, but also at the impartiality of these bogus court cases. Better to plead guilty to everything and die a martyr than to plead innocence and die just the same, -- since the outcome has already been decided.
