Countries/Places you've been to that you would class as shitholes

Carrying on from my thread of 'countries you'd like to visit....' this is the negative version. ie: places you have been to that turned out to be grim for whatever reason.

My top vote goes to Temuco, Chile - fucking awful place.

Stared at in an unfriendly manner by everyone constantly, crap food, ugly women, expensive, shit job, no-where to go at night and just butt ugly in general.

In Thailand I'd have to vote for Rangsit - (although I haven't been around the country that much).

    Siam Reap in Cambodia.

It can be a good place for people that like temples though.

Jerusalem, Israel. Have worked there 3 weeks in the biggest hotel of the city (King David hotel), to replace some old windows with aluminium frames new ones.
We were 6 swiss guys, had a room in the hotel but were treated like shit by the staff and the Mossad people who were around. (Mossad because many important conferences and TV interviews of the governement are held there).
In the city we don't felt a warm wecome neither, in fact the best place to enjoy and meet nice people was the "quartier arabe", good food, good wine and beautiful place.

I have to vote for London as well. Crap hotels that cost an arm and leg, terrible food, terrible weather, beggars everywhere, B&B's run by rip-off Iranians...And the London zoo cost 8 pounds if I remember correctly. Boy, was I disappointed...

Raki Raki Fiji, - Lautoka Fiji every shop is barred and screened. Inside, the Indian shop owner hides behind expanded metal and iron grating. The roads are on par with Laos (up country), getting anything done was an absolute career. Having something repaired or rebuilt meant going back at least five times. Finding parts for anything took forever, lay something shiny down for a minute and it disappeared. The natives are aggressive, violent and proud of their cannibalistic heritage.

The women? BIG BIG BIG, there was this one nubile sweet thing come out of the stream, clothes clinging to her curvaceous, un "supported" body as I drove by. I drove through that village a hundred times in the eight months I was there and never saw her but the once. Pops probably saw her like and had 'im a taste.

Internet cost $1.00 FJ per MB. on out island we made our own water & electricity. the telephone was radio telephone no land lines the island was OK dirve overland to Suva was dirt Road for 140 km.

One Scottish lad had his jaw broken, by a Fijian dude; totally unprovoked. Took the cops three weeks to take a report. They then went and "talked to" the assailant. The dude came back but would rather not mess with folks his own size. The cops came back; never arrested the guy, but when they arrived they greeted us with "Good morning Fuckwits" (one of our party was an English lady born in Fiji).

The Scot was game little fucker had to drink his dinner for abut 4 -5 weeks. I’d fix up filet mignon with taters, veggies and salad he'd toss the whole fuckin thing the blender whip it up and drink it down.
Doctor told us that the tiny clinic/hospital treated over 2 broken jaws a day on average.

Beautiful diving though. saw my firs sea turke there. played with apod of dolphins, took myself to over 100 feet below the surface of some fo the clearest liviest water I've every seen in life or on TV.

The natives hated the white folks, the Indians, there maybe 5% of the businesses wned by indigenous fijians 80% Indo Fijians the big stuff was White owned. Father on daughter Sexual abuse was a major problem.

There was always that palpable tension ready to snap at any given moment. Fijians are big, strong, violent motherfuckers. The Indians reminded me of the Latino gangstas back in the East Bay lookin' to act bad, ready to start some shit; run like scalded dogs when it got stinky.
Hated the fuckin' place. Biggest shit hole on the planet. 'Cept maybe New Guinea

My vote is Dhaka in Bangladesh too.

Dirt, poverty, everything is broken or shagged out. Bangladesh has been top of the table for corruption for f**k knows how long.

Considering that 90% of the Indian restaurant in the UK are run by 'Deshis the food in Dhaka is crap.

You CAN get beer in hotels but only because drink < 5% proof is considered to be non-alcolholic - WTF!

Pretty rare to see women outside of a building - don't ask me how they get to work - and those you do see are butt ugly.

There are about three hotels in the entire city, the first one I stayed in was $100 a night and had rats in the room.

I couldn't go for a walk without being followed and taking a taxi on your own is not recommended.

Not on my holiday destination list.
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.
