    What is Your Plan "B"

For those you have settled here in Thailand , I am wondering if you have a plan "B" as a backup as to where you will go next if Paradise gets to stupid.

Will you return home to your country of origin ?

Or move to one of the bordering countries and start fresh over there?

I'd opt for the latter and would consider Vietnam.

Your assumption that Thailand is paradise, and not already stupid, is a bit threadbare.

If it weren't for the somtam, I'd already be gone.

^Actually, its a fair enough question, even if it does come from someone with a less than savory reputation.

I just think that there's a close link to this thread and his other one going on at the moment. This one just puts it a little more of a tangent but it will end up in the same direction.

On a serious note. Plan B is to have things in place to be able to walk away from Thailand. I too wonder how many expats actually have a plan B.

Why does the Moog never post in his own right?

Has Fletcher finally cracked into little pieces like Humpty?

I too think it is a quite important question. How many of the expat have at least registered with their embassy so they know who of their citizen they have to contact for being flown out of the country when the shit really hits the fan?

And for the lesser serious occasion it is good to have a plan B if life is just not bearable anymore. Though that plan can be made up rather spontaneous too.

The thing is that the most likely crisis that a Farang is likely to face is not civil unrest but more like a medical, legal or financial emergency. When the shit really hits the fan, there's no place like home.

Intuative, count yourself lucky if you get more than a paragraph.

That's my Plan B, and unfortunately I'm currently living it, only in the luckier country. Fairly boring at times but planning and scheming for a come back keeps me busy.

Plan B depends on one's circumstances. And what circumstances are important, depends on the individual, of course.

I'd return to home-country and try to save about 40% or my income, and even more.
