Starting a food business in Pattaya

Well it's actually going to be in Jomtien, now it is a friends of mine and will be called "Bakers Oven" or something like that, but, he will also be importing stuff from the UK, ie stuff that isn't here.

So this thread is for suggestions of stuff that he needs to ship over, Mustards? Relishes? pickles? whatever you can think of and miss by living in Thailand.

Real bangers that are juicy, not the dry boring ones I normally get in Thailand.

Probably a pain to ship, but there is just not enough fat in the ones that are sold here.

Hope they can keep the prices within reason.
Greedy customs fokers and all , plus the heat while it sits around the post office tends to spoil many things.

^ Chitown my I suggest Food Glorious Food for good bangers around the Khlong Tan/Soi 71 area.

Could he organise a regular supply of stilton cheese? Only stuff from merry old engerland I can't find here.

BTW, I reckon "Bun in the Oven" is a better name for a bakery in Jomtien.

If his main business baking then why not, some grocery items on the side, but still reckon "Bakers Oven" will stick out like a sore thumb if located nearby by somewhere like the "Drunk and Dare-a-lick" bar or something. He needs a more catchy name, especially if he is to advertise on here as can only be expected.

Jellies? Its a bloody English place, i think he can probably make his own jams, he's a bit clever at that sort of stuff, did you know that marmalade is made out of oranges, well, I think it is, thought they would have been made out of marmalades though

I used to go to a little place in New York that sold stuff from the UK, it had a pretty cool name. "Tea and Sympathy" sausage rolls were always a big hit there.

Microwave meals. I can't seem to find tasteless macaroni and cheese or soggy caneloni they way it's presented in the UK

Jomtien already has a "Stone Oven" restaurant, so you probably need a different name.

Plus, can't see how you can break into this as I thought Yorkies and that place up by Foodland have it pretty well cornered.

Why not open a beer bar?
