- Vehicles which lack any sort of noise reduction system being commonplace
- Shopping centres where the idea seems to be that whoever makes the most noise will sell the most
- Peasants on a circuit through various sois collecting scrap on an antique motorbike & cart from 5:30am onwards with a pump airhorn (have only noticed these horns in the past year)
- Loud speakers in parks and on beaches, the kind of places people might want to seek peace and quiet
- Construction site deliveries at 1am in the middle of residential areas
I gather that Thais are afraid of quietness and like noise because it scares bad spirits away. I guess I must be a bad spirit
