Lets have a bitch about UB fvcking C

Bunch of assholes they are, I put up with the Missus whinging "why don't you take the kids out shopping" for 3 boring hours just so I could watch the advertised Superbike championship round at the advertised time of 15.30.
So turn the box on and what do I see? underneath it describes the program I am watching as a SBK round but I am in fact watching two flippers playing snooker.
If I wanted to watch that I would go to any bar in Flipperland.
The pricks do that to me all the time, I like to watch IRL racing in the US, but live its usually on at 2.3 in the morning so I look for the repeats, advertised all right as IRL but instead I get two crap 15 th division soccer teams like "Chipping on stoke vs greater wopping on trent"
Arse holes I say, why can't they keep to the advertised schedule?

The Platinum package on Truevisions is double the price of Foxtel HD in Australia for a far inferior product!

Welcome to Thailand, the rip-off starts here!

Got rid of UBC a while ago for the same reason ( and cos it went down every time there was rain !)

Gone over to Phuket Cable - equally unreliable but at a fraction of the cost !!!

I agree. UBC is terrible value. I don't ever read the guide. When I decide I want to watch TV, I sit down and flip through the channels. If I find something interesting I watch. If not, I go to TD and call someone a twat.

I canceled that crap a few years back. Nothing but lousy programming and with down loadable movies / sports events / sitcoms etc from the internet who needs UBC.

Yup, I did the same thing. Hundreds of Baht/month vs. thousands of Baht at UBC, and it's much better than UBC. They have several nonstop movie channels, playing back to back with no interruptions. For news, you get BBC, A-J, Fox, plus others from Australia/Malaysia, etc... And, best of all, I ran it all over the place to other bedrooms, etc., and no need for set top boxes, it all just cables in and runs with the TV remote. Perfect. UBC sucks!

Also in Bangkok, I just use True IPTV. No need to be held hostage to UBC anymore unless you're in outlying areas I guess.

Same, same here. I'm now watching a bunch of Brazilians get their asses kicked by some randy bulls.

Pool and golf are definitely not my idea of the perfect spectator sports.

I do as Tex. UBC is a box of chocolates, never know what your going to get.

Such is the fate of us Isan folk. Bad TV and 10kbps internet connections make for a hard life! I can only post in the movies I've watched thread once a month. Takes that long to download one.

^Norton, I've gotten tired of downloading movies and just buy armfuls of them from my street lady when I go to Bangkok. It's less hassle and they're still cheap as chips. Of course there are still some you can't get that way, but beats the hell out of yet another thing tethering you to your desktop.

When TRUE took it over I was already about to drop it, and 2 days of true was the end of UBC, and got sat for the Thai and I had 3 news channels in English.

But down the street a farang got a 7' fixed dish and gets KU band out of the fillipines and 40 channels of english and he gets Star sports and a bunch of shit so I am looking for the same thing and can't find anyone that sells it here.

I use Banglamaung TV down here in Pattaya and get the Rugby and cricket. Rest is mostly shite with a few Aussie soap operas
Also have UBC as the kids would lynch me if we could not get the cartoon channels. An hour a day maximum.
Never really watch the stupid box, just have it on in the background mostly (BBC News) and after the kids have gone to bed.

I've got a subscription to DSTV/M-Net out of South Africa. It's cheaper, more reliable, and has better programming than UBC.

Also the 'sports channels' don't consist entirely of the replay of a replay of some wanky chavball game.

Where I am, though I have strong broadband, it is subject to frequent interruptions in service, and it used to knock down the bit torrent program, and I had to restart it all the time and just finally said sod it.

UBC are a cheaky bunch of gay cunts. I saw an ad the other day where they were basically saying,

"Soon our service to you will be improved even more when we ad all new pay per view channels!"

How is that improving the sevice?

"Yes please! Can I pay even more to you twats to watch the same old drivel"

Last week a mate showed me some sports downloads off I box in the UK, the picture quality was great and the English commentary for motorsports was much better than available here.
Will somehow get TOT to install broad band (another story in itself) and go the torrent way I think.

    PP,

It's semi-legit, I pay for the subscription but it's based on a residential address in Zimbabwe. Frankly as long as I pay they don't seem to phased that I'm not living where I say I am.

You can come and stay, you're on babysitting duties.

Got rid of Utter Bull Crap about 2 years ago. Replaced it with one of the local cables for 350 baht a month - for serious stuff they have BBC, DWT and Australia Pacific, 3 English soundtrack movie channels, sportswise Eurosport and 2 channels from South Africa, and for comedy Fox News.

I also use TVANTS to watch all the True sports channels live as well as the Discovery Channel. TVU used to be good for live sports events but it seems to get blocked now just as the broadcasts begin.
